We love to share spaces from interior designers who use our furniture pieces. They always have fresh takes on our favorite items, and today is no exception! Jana Bek is an interior designer with a fantastic eye for color and an even better sense of style. Through Bek Design, she works with clients all over the country to design spaces that suit her clients’ needs and budget. Today, she’s sharing with us several ways that she uses outdoor furniture pieces indoors!

I often forget that some of my favorite pieces to layer into my client’s space are actually meant for outdoor spaces. Here are three of my favorite “outdoor” Ballard Designs pieces that feel right at home indoors as well.

1. Garden Stools

Garden stools are an easy accent for virtually any space. I love using them as side tables or pairing under consoles for additional seating when needed. Given their soft edges & weight, they are very family friendly & you never have to worry about staining their glossy ceramic surface! In my client’s Salt Lake City family room, I love how the white ceramic pops against the leather chair.

The Ballard Designs Olivia Side table was a cherry on top in this living room, topped with a table lamp!

2. Outdoor rugs

Outdoor rugs have come a long way in terms of look and feel, so I often incorporate them into indoor spaces. I love using them in dining rooms, especially in homes with little ones, as any worry of staining is relieved. Given their compact profile, dining chairs can move with ease. Outdoor rugs are definitely my go-to’s for entries and mudrooms as well!

We used the Geneve rug in aqua in a Philadelphia client’s room. It paired perfectly with their patterned drapes — you would have no idea it’s an outdoor rug!

3. Campaign Chairs

I was so thrilled when I saw that Ballard Designs debuted these beautiful director’s chairs this spring! I had actually been on the hunt for a luxe version of a traditional director’s chair for sometime, and these are perfect for adding a little relaxed safari chic to many spaces.

They would be amazing in a sunroom, breakfast nook, or any space that has a cool coastal vibe. I would drape a lamb throw over them if pairing in a living room to give them a little more substance and added texture.

In the dining area of my client’s New York studio apartment, the chairs definitely play up the easy elegance we wanted to achieve!
