While creamy whites and watery blues may seem like a color palette for the Spring and Summer months, we love the way this look echoes the blankets of snow and cloudy days of winter too! Plus, a room like this helps to remind you that warm days will indeed will return.
The inspiration for this space was really our Gwyneth Buffalo Check Bedding. This classic print in an oversized scale is the perfect jumping off for a bedroom, and we can’t helps but love the way this pattern works with our Jardin Toile bedding and Jardin Toile quilted bedding. Because the mix of patterns turns this pair of twin beds into the ‘wow’ moment in the room, we kept the rest of the space (and the complementary fabrics) fairly simple. Suzanne Kasler’s Signature 13oz Linen in Blanc is a great addition, as well as our Ticking Stripe in Sandalwood. We topped of the space with a final flourish — a pair of Mitzi Ottomans in our new Piper Mineral fabric at the foot of the bed.
When it came time for accessories, we wanted to include both simple shapes and a slightly feminine feel. Because of this, we chose a pair of botanical prints (our Garden Whimsy Art stacked one on top of the other) and a Cosette 6-Light Chandelier over either bed.
As a backdrop for this space, we picked the perfectly named Snow on the Mountain (#1513) by Benjamin Moore. It’s that wonderfully soft cream/gray, and it has a touch of green in it to echo the colors we’ve picked for the space.
Last but not list, we gave the bedroom a little life by including a little potted fig tree.
