Decorating Dilemmas is a weekly column in which our stylists answer your design questions, so you can tackle your home decorating project with complete confidence.
Dear Style Studio,
I love chandeliers and I love the French county look. I am struggling with the chandelier size for my kitchen.
I am planning on adding some recess lighting and wanted a chandelier to make statement. I was considering your Cosette chandelier and maybe add the shades for a cozier country look.
Do you think that is a good choice? What size? What other ones would you recommend?
Thank you so much!!!!
Best,
Barbie

Dear Barbie,
Thank you for your dilemma. Without knowing the dimensions of your kitchen, it is difficult to let you know the size of the chandelier you need.
However, there is a formula that you can use to determine the size you will need. Just add the length and width of the space and that should equal the chandelier’s diameter in inches. Say your kitchen is 14 by 16, then the largest chandelier should be 30″ in diameter.
Or, if you are looking to place the chandelier over the table, the chandelier’s diameter should be between one-half to three-quarters of the width of the table.
The Cosette Chandelier has a timeless look and comes in two sizes: 6 light -27″ diameter (15″ high) and a 10 light – 45″ diameter (193/4″ high). We hope this information helps you with your choice.
