Dear Style Studio Team,
My dark and dreary living room need your help! I’ve spent more money than I should trying to add pieces that pop to this room, but they always seem to blend right in with everything else. How can I bring some color in to this room while maintaining the traditional and rich look?
The furniture, along with the painting, must remain core pieces in this living space. Since our dining room is open to our living room, I’ve also included a photo of this space.
Thanks a million for your help!
Jamie
Jamie,
Many times when a space seems flat, there is a lack of texture and color. For your living room, we suggest using the color in your window treatments for an added color punch.
First, try replacing your rug with the Ferrata Zebra Rug. This fabulous option introduces bold scale into the room.
Next replace the artwork above your sofa with our Purple Mist Landscape Art to repeat the new accent color. Hang a few of your existing wall plaques around this artwork to create an artwork grouping above your sofa. The Oyster Shell Candle Sconce is a unique piece that could be easily included in the new wall collection … it infuses a taste of texture. Grouping items together allows them to make a bigger impact within a space.
We recommend replacing the throw pillows with new colors … how about pillows in Marrakesh Ikat Purple for a suggestion?
Adding variety in texture, scale and color to a space can be your best direction when you update an existing room.
Happy Decorating!
