Well Made, Functional, BeautifulWell made and matches other desk systems from Ballard in same color. It is sturdy but can be easily lifted and moved when empty. This is a peice of furniture. You can place something decorative like photos or other accessories on top. The drawers are deep.

Classic linesThis cabinet works perfectly for me, as it matches my similar office group. Especially nice that it has non-tip drawers to prevent accidents. I ordered a glass top for it, but I don't know that one has to do that; I have one for my desk group, so I wanted to be consistent. My cabinet is in cream color and the workmanship--and design--display the usual Ballard stellar quality. In short, it met every expectation.

Tuscan File CabinetsI am so pleased with these file cabinets . They are well made, easy for any filing system one may use. I have two together and use one of the bottom cabinets for office supplies and my new printer fits perfectly on top. I also I did my entire office using Tuscan Office Furniture when I turned a spare bedroom into my office.

Great as a pair under the TVWe were looking for an under TV console that had a classic look, wasn't too low as most are, and had good (hidden) storage. Two of these file cabinets, which fit flush against one another, worked out great. We took out the file drawer locking mechanisms and now we use them to store board games, video game consoles, and other living room essentials. They provide a ton of storage!

Good Functional File Drawer CabinentFor the class of this piece, it is a good purchase. Only time will tell if it holds up as far as the sliders on the drawers are concerned. That would be the big issue. So, the cabinet is as pictured, and dimensions are as advertised. If fulfills its purpose, but it is not a head turner. It is not a high-end piece by any means. I am just hoping it lasts much longer than the comparable file drawer cabinet I got from Home Depot 6 years ago that died in 3 years.

Beautiful color, nice for home officeI purchased two of the ivory consoles to go along with the ivory bookcase for my home office. I have a lot of files and needed a heavy-duty file console that also looks nice like a piece of furniture. These file consoles are just a little less expensive than the industrial-strength file consoles that you can find in office furniture stores, but - they look a lot better. The quality appears to be high and they look beautiful in my home office. They were just a little more narrow than what I was expecting so I hope that all of my files will fit in them. However, even with that I am very pleased with the purchase.
Upon delivery, there is a small 'ding' on the side of one of the cabinets, and I worked with the customer service center and got a small refund.
I would highly recommend these files AND the bookcase, in the Ivory. The color is beautiful!!!

Folder bars are too shortIt is built ok. Not as good as I expected, but better than a big box office store. The hardware is cheap. Plan to replace it. The bars for the hanging file folders are too short for the drawer and a full file drawer doesn't handle the weight well. Not for someone planning to use this for actual filing.

Tuscan Office Products - Wood is SoftWe bought the full office suite of desk, hutch, 2 bookcases and a set of drawers for the desk. We then purchased the media console and this file console. It is gray and is stunning. Our only complaint is that the wood is soft and dents and chips easily. We recently bought a glass top for the desk to protect it. Would highly suggest others consider doing this to get the most out of the furniture.

Not so happyI’ve had 4 of these for a year now. They look nice but the drawers still refuse to open. The mechanism to keep the drawers closed are sub par. Very frustrating so husband removed them.

Not what I ExpectedI ordered this piece to add to the collection I already had. Because I was pleased with what I have been using for the past 2 years I felt confident this would be the same experience.
I am sorry to report that I struggle every day with this new piece. The top drawer won't close without using physical force, and of course I can't use the bottom drawer when the top drawer is not fully closed.

DisappointedI have had difficulty with the top drawer catching. It will close and then not reopen. I have to open the lower drawer and click a latch to release the top drawer for it to open. I have tried calling technical support to help me and left message but no one has called me.

Nice looking, but junkThe look of the Tuscan collection is great, I purchased the desk, shelves and file cabinet. After using this file cabinet for a week, one drawer would no longer close. When we tried taking the drawer out, we couldn't get it back in, the brackets were coming loose and were very flimsy and cheap.

Not Really.The Tuscan File Console looks very nice. However, when it was being unpacked by the delivery people, they punched a hole in the back which revealed that the back panels are composed of paper -thin wood with white Styrofoam material in-between. I did not send it back as the hole was not larger than an inch or two and it would not bother the function. You must be careful opening the drawers pulling with equal weight or the drawers get caught by something and you need to lift and wiggle the drawers to make them work. Don't plan on adding any locks to them, can't do it on the side, and the front cost me $100 a drawer by a good locksmith as it was so difficult to do. I had purchased two consoles. Don't plan on using them for a home office as they are much too expensive. My conclusion is that I wish I had just purchased some white metal file cabinets. The cost of these Tuscan File Console is way too high.

Tuscan File ConsoleI purchased 3 Tuscan File Consoles 5 years ago and they are fabulous. So great that I bought 5 more in February. What a difference! The interiors are smaller, the hanging files used to have a 1" gap between the left side and right. Now they have maybe half an inch so all the files interrupt each other and nothing slides smoothly. The construction is a lesser quality and grade than the previous files yet they somehow manage to charge more for a clearly inferior product! The cabinet feels flimsy, less robust than its predecessor. I'm supremely disappointed!!! Ballard Designs should be ashamed!

Bad odorThis is a beautiful cabinet that I really wanted to love. However, I noticed a very strong chemical odor as soon as it was un-boxed. I opened the drawers and let it air out for a few weeks but the odor did not go away. Ballard offered me a replacement - same problem.

Style without substanceI bought 7 pieces from this line including two of these file cabinets about 3 years ago. They looked awesome, with a lot of style. But they just simply haven't held up well. The wood is like a chicken coop -- cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap. Your fingernail alone can leave an ugly dent. The top drawer on one of the cabinets closes and locks and it is difficult to open it again (the safety feature on it has issues). And the rods that hold the filing folders often fall down. You pay a lot with Ballard for style ... but in the future I will pay more with someone else for substance.
