There is a light distressing to it which I like and the joints are smooth, not cracked etc. The light is a nice feature and the delivery was easy. The paint finish is cream as described but definitely a yellow cream. I recommend getting a sample if possible.

We had purchased the tuscan desk return with hutch roughly a year ago, and were pleased to see that Ballard had introduced the book shelf with cabinet to that collection relatively recently. We purchased two of these shelves to complete our library and while being mostly pleased with them, it was disappointing to see the color difference between the desk we bought previously, and these shelves. The desk is clearly a more green/gray tone, and these shelves clearly have more of a muted bluish/gray undertone - despite them both being sold as the "warm gray" finish. Not a deal breaker in keeping them, but definitely perceptible to the naked eye, and perhaps an indicator that Ballard may want to keep a closer watch on production quality, particularly given the price point of their furniture.
