It’s hard to say that it’s sturdier than other domes, but I will take the other reviewers words for it. This one seems of good quality. There are a few tiny air bubbles on the very top but nothing that the average person would notice. There’s also one in perfection on the bottom where it could’ve been maybe polished slightly more but again nothing that concerns me too much and you don’t notice it. The dome is expensive and I don’t know if I would pay that price again, however I haven’t found anything similar online to this and I really needed the height so for me at least it’s worth it. Although I think if you want a shorter dome I would just go to HomeGoods. It should comfortably hold a three or four layer cake depending on how tall your cake topper is. I put mine on a marble base which I think makes it look good. Overall I am pleased and it meets my expectations.

The dome was thick enough glass that doesn’t easily break if lightly bumped while washing it. I highly recommend to bakers who love to showcase their lofty delights.
