Beautiful!The Simone bench was purchased to sit in front of a window on a stair landing. The choice of wood finishes on the interesting turned legs allowed a perfect match to the window trim. The fabric selected is contemporary and stylish, Ballard offered a great selection to choose from. Upholstery was done very well... nicely centered, matched and straight. A quality piece for a great price.

Beautiful bench!We purchased the Simone Bench with the Belgrano Ikat Spa fabric and it is gorgeous! The colors in the fabric are a light gray-blue, olive green and brown against a neutral (flax) background. We have it at the foot our our bed and it makes me smile every time I walk in the room! Love it!

An excellent choiceI bought this for the lobby of my office in black microfiber with mahogany legs. It is sturdy, well made and very attractive. The legs were easy to attach. We have received many compliments on it. It was reasonably priced and I highly recommend it.

sturdy bench, great fabric optionsAfter pouring over the many fabric choices, I bought the simone bench (on sale) w/cognac legs and chocolate domino fabric last year. It looks great at the foot of my bed and is sturdy enough to sit on. I recommend the bench and would buy it again. It has a simple, elegant design that would fit in w/different decors.

Just What I Was Looking For!I am using this bench in front of den sofa for a comfortable place to put up your feet. I supplied my own fabric and the ordering procedure was simple. My custom Simone bench looks great. The only suggestion I have is that it needs to be a bit heavier as it moves around easily.

Rich looking; not heavy enoughMy husband & I bought to go in front of our sofa. The fabric is very rich and really very nice, as are the legs (I was worried about the color from the online photos, but they do not look off or cheap at all). As others have commented, however, the bench is incredibly light and feels very flimsy. It gets pushed out of place constantly b/c it isn't heavy enough. Overall, it is well worth the money (very inexpensive) and looks like a much more expensive piece of furniture if you don't touch it. I would tell Ballard to beef it up a bit though. For those buying, it probably works great against a wall or foot of the bed. I'm still very happy with it, but it would be perfect if made heavier. I should note that although it feels flimsy, it is apparently not; I have a dog, a 5 year old and a 3 year old that I'm constantly reminding to get off of it, and it hasn't broken yet!

Love my new benchI love my new bench. Fabric was exactly as pictured online and catalogue. The bench is very sturdy. It is not ideal for sitting long periods of time because of the cushion and foam inside. However, it is perfect for the foot of my bed and decorative purposes. Great buy you wont be disappointed.

Pretty benchTrouble is... I could use it in two different places, at the end of my queen sleigh bed, or as an alternative to my coffee table. Recently had guests with a baby and moved the bench out of the bedroom. Now I like it as much in the living room. It's wonderfully versatile!

nice benchThis bench is very nice looking and looks more expensive that what I paid, BUT I don't think it is a bench for sitting, it is more of a decoration. The bench seems a little flimsy and I wouldn't have more than one person sit on it, if at all. I'm very happy with it and it looks very nice in front of my window.

overall satisfiedColor was a little darker than it was pictured, but i did not get a sample. The bench is low and long and I am using it instead of a coffee table right now. Delivery was slightly longer than anticipated. Overall though, it looks great and is very functional.

Pleased, but not thrilled.Although my bench looks nice I'm not as excited about it as I had hoped. The pearly grey legs that were pictured were delivered a little more flat and the velvet fabric shows every time anything touches it. I'm constantly brushing it with my hand trying to get the grain to all lay the same way but most the time it just looks blahh! Sorry Ballard, not my favorite.

Depends on intended functionLike other reviews, I find that this bench lacks sturdiness. However, it will not get a lot of use in my house, as it sits at the foot of my bed and primarily is used to place the clothes that I intend to wear the following day. If you want to use it in an entryway or in the living room, it's not ideal, but if you're just looking for a pretty piece and it will get little use, it's perfect for the price!

Style is niceThis item sits in our mudroom. Used more for decoration than it does for functionality. It is a very nice looking piece. The fabric is nice however, the frame is poorly made. Our first one had a leg collapse and tore right off the frame which consisted of a particle board material. We opted to have it replaced but I would not use this in an area where you may have people sitting on it.

Very disappointed!I ordered this bench and waited with anticipation for it to arrive. I opened the box, put it together and saw that the fabric has a line in it the entire length of the bench. I assume it was due to the fabric being folded at some point and it just never came out. (I got the canvas sunbrella in dark gray so it really stands out.) I don't understand why the mfg. would not pay attention to that sort of detail, or perhaps they just plain don't care.

More decorative than functional.When you sit on this bench, the legs wobble. I weigh 120 lbs. & hesitate to sit on it. Wouldn't have purchased it had I known it was decorative instead of functional.

Can't handle weightI bought this bench 2 or 3 years ago. My husband and I, thin people, used it for putting shoes on. We liked the looks of it very much, but a leg came off and the bench cannot be fixed.

Very flimsyThis bench is poorly made with cheap materials. I placed it at the foot of the bed in a guest room. My guest sat on it to put on her shoes and it cracked. It is purely for show in my opinion, and not to be used. Waste of money.
