I live in an old apartment and could not hang my rod high above the double windows. Nor could I attach the end brackets to the window framing woodwork because it was deeply fluted. So I ended up putting the brackets outbound of the double window but then could not mount the enclosed middle bracket that cups beneath the rod because of the window framing pushing it out too far, beyond the depth of the end brackets that were attached to the wall. Since I don't plan to open and close the drapes, but simply let them hang at the sides of the window, it seems to be OK and my handyman is trying to design some form of substitute center bracket. This old house! Always a challenge.

The quality of the working components that connects the corners is also outstanding. I searched the entire internet and found no rod set better than this unit. The rings easily slide over the rod to open and close when a heavy linen drape is attached. This does not happen with all rod sets. Yes, I would purchase the black matte rods again!
