Rated 5 out of 5 by from It looks great and has great texture! I bought this rug as a runner for a hall from my garage. It looks great, has nice clean lines and I love the texture. It has brightened the area and it cleans easily using the floor brush attachment of my vacuum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a great rug for our front porch, perfect size and it goes well with the color of our house and the black rod iron furniture. Great service also. I look forward to your catalogs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not like other sisals I purchased this rug because the bleached tone blends perfectly with our white slipcovered furniture and pale yellow armchairs. I chose the Spa border because it matches the cushions in our living room. The mitered corners give it a crisp look under our coffee table. The size was also perfect for the space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful quality We love our light sisal rugs. I had some concern about the rugs smoothing out after unpacking them but they look wonderful. The quality is great. No stains yet so I can't comment on cleaning results. Another happy Ballard purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard to find color I find the typical sisal rug too gold or brown. Usually just too dark in color for my needs. This is my second light sisal rug. I liked it so much I .bought another for my bedroom

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard-to-find color Bought two of these rugs with the khaki/tan border because of the light sisal color and I am pleased. The lighter, sort of straw color of this rug is just what I needed to help relate a golden granite counter to a noche travertine floor. No complaints about the quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sisal runner So far, so good. I wouldn’t put it in a high- trafficked area. Hopefully it will hold up!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good neutral rug for shore house, but... Great little rug, but arrived with lots of dark colored threads and a very obvious "knot" in the rug. I had ordered 2 others a few months ago, and they were much better. Had thought about returning it, but waited a long time for it to come in, so I decided to avoid the hassle of returning it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from strong smell I recently purchased this rug. I love everything about it but the smell. It smells like formaldehyde. I have had the rug opened up for 8 days now and I hope the smell lessens. It is very noticable. The rug looks beautiful, a little rough on the feet, but overall it's the look I was going for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the color choices; doesn't clean up well I was very excited to find a light-colored sisal that came with many color choices for the trim. The gray was perfect underneath the smaller lavender and gray wool rug in our daughter's room and made for a nice layered look with the wood floors. Unfortunately, our three year old vomited on this rug, and there's nothing we can do to save it. Considering it was less than a year old, it's a shame, but part of the peril of natural grass materials apparently. Will wait for a sale to order a replacement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light color I like this rug a lot. It is pretty light and fairly yellowish. We have gray walls, and we feel like it is ok, though. The blue border is a really good blue color. There were some gray marks on the rug, but they aren't a big deal. Finally, it isn't soft, but isn't horrible either. I don't know that I would want to sit on the floor with bare legs, though. I am including a picture. It is blurry, but gives you an idea of the color of the rug.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the lighter sisal! This rug IS beautiful. The lighter sisal is refreshing especially with the spa twill border. The contrast works well in my dining room. The knots are tighter creating a more elegant look for a natural fiber rug. One downfall - the cotton twill corners could have been more elegantly folded and stitched. Arrived on time and in great condition. Will not be purchasing anymore rugs though, the cost to ship is simply outrageous!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Looking Rug I looked several places for a large, light sisal area rug and was happy to find it at Ballard Designs. Luckily, I got it 15% off, which helped with the hefty 50 dollar shipping fee. I layered a houndstooth diagonally over it and together they have a dramatic impact in my great room. There are a few dark brown fibers that run through it- almost making it look like someone marked it with a thin pen. This happens on the entire surface of the rug, but is only noticeable when you are looking closely. Decorator I am working with says this is a characteristic of a sisal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful and Durable We love this rug! My cats tear it to pieces and it never shows it. It lightens our entire living room and brings an airy sophisticated feel to it. The only thing I'll say about it is that in certain light, it has a yellowish tint. Besides that, it's gorgeous!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay rug, over priced Uneven quality of rug, knots, etc. throughout. Also a grassy smell which has not dissipated over several weeks. Not first rate. Over priced.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite what you pay for Overall the rug is okay - but two issues to be aware of: 1) rug makes the room it is laid down in smell like plastic for about 1 week after laying it down (as a result of the plastic backing) 2) rug has several ‘natural’ defects (not surprising given it’s a natural fiber) - to be fair these are visual only. Given the price point, neither should occur.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not fully satisfied I received the rug and put it in my family toon. The rug looked good but had a Strong odor. After washing the liner in the back and airing out for two days - outside.on a covered porch, the smell went mostly away

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok I purchased two of these rugs for my bathroom with grey banding. They were from different dye lots. The stitching was poor quality. I’m keeping them but I was a little disappointed in the workmanship
Date published: 2019-05-27
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not very well made The stitching on the banding on this rug was very uneven. I had to hot glue one part of it down that wasn't even stitched. Pretty disappointing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Maybe, maybe not? Not sure about a few brown/black streaks running randomly through the rug. I understand that it's a natural product, so some variation might occur, but the contrast is so dramatic and the rug looks like it's soiled. As I mentioned to the Ballard's customer service rep, I'm toying with returning it because of that. But I probably won't since it'd be a real hassle. It was a good price for a 10 x 14, especially with the sale. It is somewhat yellow in color, so be aware of that as well. Wish I could be more positive!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from it's very pretty- but it cuts- seriously! This is a nice, light colored, clean looking rug- exactly the look I was going for. BUT- It is much rougher than your 'average' sisal rug. An example, you ask? My husband was sitting on it "ouch!" and holds up his thumb to show me a spot of blood. The rug actually cut his thumb, I kid you not. And when I sit on it to play with my daughter (who has no complained) I have to sit on a blankie because the rug is too uncomfortable. so I wish they had a button between yes and no. Its pretty- but be prepared to exfoliate on it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This rug texture works under office chair on rollers. I looked locally at many rugs to find a nice looking, natural fiber for my office with hardwood floors. I tried this tighter-weave sisal and it is working just fine with the rollers of my desk chair. The dimensions are not ideal, however. I need another foot in width.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible odor - I hope it goes away I am happy with the look, but not with the horrible odor...I hope this dissipates because after several hours of airing it out with windows open, it has not. Horrible chemical odor right out of the package, and not well packaged. Rips and damage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT pet friendly—so hard to clean This rug is extremely difficult to clean...water turns it a brownish color as does diluted cleaning solutions. I was told to use a hair dryer to dry the cleaned area to prevent water staining but this did not work. I am disappointed that one puppy accident ruined this rug. Please consider your needs before purchasing. I could find nothing on the Ballard website on how to clean this rug—just generic vacuuming suggestions. I do believe this rug needs a “Buyer Beware” warning. Other than difficulty with maintaining the rug, it was fine.
