Please note: Any items that are monogrammed, customized, Customer's Own Material (COM), or made-to-order cannot be modified, cancelled, returned or exchanged unless damaged or defective. Defective items will be exchanged unless no longer available, in which case a Merchandise Certificate will be issued. Once a returned item is received in our warehouse, the return or exchange will be processed immediately. For credit card orders, you can expect to see your refund credit within 72 hours. For check and money orders, you can expect to receive your refund check within 7-10 business days.

Orders equal to and under $200 will be charged 15% of the total order value.

We offer Two Business Day or Next Business Day Expedited Shipping on many items. Expedited orders received by 4 pm ET Monday–Friday are shipped the same day.

Expedited order cut-offs may vary during weeks surrounding a federally recognized holiday.

What To Expect For Truck Deliveries

  1. After your items have shipped, you will be contacted by our delivery partner to schedule a day and 4 hour window for your delivery.
  2. When scheduling, share any restrictions or special circumstances that could impact your delivery including, but is not limited to:
    • Narrow roads
    • Restricted delivery times
    • Gated entrances
    • Proof of insurance requirements
    • Multiple flights of stairs
    • Service elevator restrictions
  3. Ensure that all items will fit through access points such as doorways, stairways, hallways, elevators, and around corners into the desired location.
  4. On the day of delivery, our delivery partner will call you approximately 30 minutes prior to arriving at your home.
  5. Please prepare for your delivery by ensuring clear pathways and removing any fragile items that could be damaged during the delivery. Our delivery provider is unable to move any existing furniture.
  6. Our delivery experience is contactless and your signature is not required. If you observe an imperfection, notify the delivery team and either refuse the item or contact us at 888-263-9850 for a resolution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Design and assembly This desk is beautiful. However, it was manufactured incorrectly and the holes on the desk legs did not align for assembly. After 30 minutes of sawing a piece of the desk away, we were able to get the legs put on and fortunately the damage done in the process was under the desk and not visible. Although we were able to resolve the problem without returning the desk, clearly the inspection process before this product leaves the factory is deficient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful desk I love the design and "lightness" of this desk. My husband was able to assemble it easily but needed two people to flip it over and place it in my office. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is the paint color. Definitely order the swatch before ordering the desk if you want it in a particular white tone. To my eye in person this "soft rubbed white" is a cool white with a slight green cast, not a warm creamy white as pictured online. I was expecting the latter and was a bit surprised. Still it's an elegant transitional desk.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Piece The only thing I don’t like about this desk is the bar in the front. It’s not stable and I’m always tempted to rest my feet on it but then I remember it would likely break. Otherwise this is a beautiful heirloom piece and I’m thrilled with my purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sturdy but gets dirty… It’s a well made and well packaged desk piece, and very sturdy, however, the top surface easily mars at the slightest touch. I only had plastic items (plastic desk calendar, cup holder), a coaster, and a desk pad and it picked up color from my desk pad (no previous desk ever had) and scratched super easily. My notebook even scratched it apparently. Thank god I didn’t let a pen near it. I was considering purchase of a glass top, which I did after I saw what a trainwreck the surface was, but I shouldn’t have had to purchase glass to protect it at such a price point. Also the images make it seem as if there is a gold/champagne very thin ridge detail that is intentional, but there isn’t, it’s just where joints of product meet that aren’t white. The hardware doesn’t match either. I would still buy it, but not for the price I paid so look for a sale (and they wouldn’t price match on their sale, within a month if my purchase because I had a shipping discount, not in their fine print mind you). Overall, I was surprised and disappointed in the quality of finish for the investment.

Ballard had very good customer service with a quick response to the issue, and is replacing the desk and allowing me to use the damaged desk until the replacement is available. Other than that, it is beautiful, sturdy and a great size.

Unfortunately my desk (ordered in September) came pretty damaged (mid-October) and while Ballard Designs offered a discount to keep it or an exchange, I went with the exchange. It was backordered until November 30th, however the date has now been pushed out two additional times and I am not holding my breathe that December 21st is accurate. I want people to be aware that the date on the website for shipment is not accurate and you may need to wait months before you receive the product. It is a lovely desk and I can't wait to receive it, but at this point I am not confident in when that will be.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Price does not match quality Received a broken product three times. For the first shipment, the drawer was cracked. It was not possible to send a new drawer only, so the company sent an entire new desk. I should have just swapped the drawers- this was not permitted. The second desk had cracked legs. Company sent a third desk, also cracked legs. All three desks had inconsistent pain coverage and were incredibly soft and easy to damage- just pushing in a chair left dents in the soft wood. From afar, they all looked great but for this price I expect a well-made product that will last. After the third desk, gave up and requested a return. Was given 3 different dates of when my refund was processed, about six weeks later filed a charge back with my bank.
