The best part of this rod, other than they look very unique and pretty, is that the way it was designed to hang on the wall is so much better. The system installs so much easier, and looks a lot nicer. Glad I got this set.

The rectangular shape gives these a more unique look. We're now re-doing out living room and I will be purchasing the same rods for that room.

The rods are slightly different gold than the rings and the clips are way different gold. Some of the rings are slightly different in color to each other as well. Thus the 4 star instead of 5

Rated 4 out of 5 by Studio Z Home from Eyelet holes very small If you are using these with custom pre-pinned draperies the eyelet hole for the ring is extremely small and does not fit the pre-pinned plastic drapery hooks that come with a lot of lines of custom draperies. I had to replace all pins with metal drapery pins and then they fit. A very unique look, but hard to also get the rings to sit perpendicular to the rod and stay lined up.

A great transitional piece, traditional but with a contemporary flare due to the square end caps. Only thing is that it was scratched in some places when I took it out of the box, so that was disappointing.

I ordered the polished nickel but took one star away because it is more of a brushed nickel instead of polished. My dining room walls are black so it didn’t pop as much I would’ve like but it still looks beautiful and added just a touch more of sophistication to the room.

If you wish to use them without the clips, they will require some retro-fitting - either by sewing them directly onto your panels, or adding a jump ring to the eye. Otherwise, they worked fine for the panels I used, and the quality is very good. The shape is beautiful and unique, so all good!

Also purchased the matching rings. The only thing that should be noted is that the eyes on the rings are facing the same direction as the ring itself, so they must be used with the enclosed clips - you can't really use drapery pins with these rings. This worked out ok for the panels we were using, but if we had been using custom pleated panels with pins, it would not have worked without some type of jump ring.

I have restored a historical home so every detail is of high quality so these really stick out. Very unfortunate. They will have to be replaced.

They are beautiful in person, but not "polished", they're definitely brushed. Similar look to stainless steel. The brackets are rather chincy. I ordered 3 sets and the mounting brackets were curved on two sets (4 brackets total), making them impossible to install. Had a local gunsmith make some new ones out of steel. The diameter on them is 1", the display photos are misleading. The rings are metal on metal so they will make noise and scratch. Bottom line: they look great, but don't touch them. For the money I would have expected a better quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lisey from Fragile metal poles Poles arrived damaged 3 times. Had to have them replaced. The metal is not as sturdy as it should be. They also are not packaged carefully. The second time they were replaced the poles were off on color. Brass was darker on one side.

So while the effect is beautiful, it is not practical as it is not easy to open and close the curtains as the rings get stuck on the rod.

Perhaps with different window dimensions, this would have worked better, but as it was, I had to return and will keep looking.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DaniinVegas from NOT "polished" nickel Ordered this set in polished nickel, and it is most definitely not. Polished nickel is supposed to be shiny, like chrome. This "polished nickel" of this set is more like brushed nickel. The rod came with a few scratches and what looks like drip marks from the chemical bath. It also has VERY CLEAR brush marks along the entire length of the rod. I'll probably be keeping it because it's the only square rod set I've found, but not worth the price, even on sale (we purchased at 20% off.)

The curtain rings scratch the rod every time you open and close. Gold flakes of chipped paint will fall everywhere. I contacted Ballard and they are offering a messily $18 in which it won’t even cover one rod. Please avoid the gold.

They look like they have a clear plastic greenish/yellow wrapper on them and literally every person I've asked agreed - and has confirmed - there is no wrapper. They are scratched, covered in an odd film or dip and when you scratch the inside with a knife you can see it's a silver color. These are brass plated at best and if so, they need a new brass plating technique. The endcaps and wall mounts are actually pretty true to the image but the bar itself is not even close, in any light. Luckily BD will let me return at no cost but will not refund the $90 shipping I paid for this bulk order. BUYER BEWARE.
