We want you to be happy. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your purchase, simply return it within 90 days of the ship date for an exchange or refund (excluding Shipping & Processing fees). All products are guaranteed from defects for a full year.

Please carefully inspect your order upon delivery. If you receive damaged or defective merchandise, you may contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-536-7551 and a representative will be glad to arrange a return or exchange for you.

Please note: Any items that are monogrammed, customized, Customer's Own Material (COM), or made-to-order cannot be modified, cancelled, returned or exchanged unless damaged or defective. Defective items will be exchanged unless no longer available, in which case a Merchandise Certificate will be issued. Once a returned item is received in our warehouse, the return or exchange will be processed immediately. For credit card orders, you can expect to see your refund credit within 72 hours. For check and money orders, you can expect to receive your refund check within 7-10 business days.

Orders equal to and under $200 will be charged 15% of the total order value.

Orders over $200 will be charged 10% of the total order value with a cap at $350.

All shipping charges are based on the original retail price of the product prior to any discounts being applied.

Expedited Shipping

We offer Two Business Day or Next Business Day Expedited Shipping on many items. Expedited orders received by 4 pm ET Monday–Friday are shipped the same day.

Expedited order cut-offs may vary during weeks surrounding a federally recognized holiday.

Rates start at $25 for Two Business Day and $35 for Next Business Day and increase based on the size of your order. The amount will be calculated at check out or call us for a quote.

  • On many larger items, like furniture, you have the option to upgrade the delivery experience to In-Home Truck Delivery.
  • Some items only ship via In-Home Truck Delivery.
  • With our In-Home Truck Delivery service, the item will be brought inside in your home, unpacked, placed in its final destination, and packaging materials removed.
  • Assembly is not included.

What To Expect For Truck Deliveries


  1. After your items have shipped, you will be contacted by our delivery partner to schedule a day and 4 hour window for your delivery.
  2. When scheduling, share any restrictions or special circumstances that could impact your delivery including, but is not limited to:
    • Narrow roads
    • Restricted delivery times
    • Gated entrances
    • Proof of insurance requirements
    • Multiple flights of stairs
    • Service elevator restrictions
  3. Ensure that all items will fit through access points such as doorways, stairways, hallways, elevators, and around corners into the desired location.
  4. On the day of delivery, our delivery partner will call you approximately 30 minutes prior to arriving at your home.
  5. Please prepare for your delivery by ensuring clear pathways and removing any fragile items that could be damaged during the delivery. Our delivery provider is unable to move any existing furniture.
  6. Our delivery experience is contactless and your signature is not required. If you observe an imperfection, notify the delivery team and either refuse the item or contact us at 888-263-9850 for a resolution.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful but small and flimsy Chair is beautiful and the upholstery was well done, but it's much smaller than I was expecting and the back is so low that you can't really lean back on it at all. It's also very flimsy. I was sitting in it shortly after it arrived and my husband leaned on the arm of the chair to bend down and kiss me. We heard a loud crack, and the arm of the chair is now wiggling so something obviously broke. It also took FOREVER to arrive. I know we're in a pandemic and delays are to be expected, but I waited 8 months for this chair and it was delayed 3 separate times. Unlike with other companies, I was not offered any discount for the delay. I've ordered from several other companies during this same time period and did not have these issues.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Arrived broken twice Attempted to purchase twice - once with a 7 month wait and second with a 4 month wait. Both times chair and legs of chair and ottoman arrived cracked and broken. The low star rating is for poor shipping and handling. Customer service took time to respond and unfortunately the best they could do was offer me a 20% on the broken chairs or attempt to reorder once again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wrong Fabric, 7 month wait I already posted this review and it was not put up by Ballard Designs. So I will repost it. I ordered this product along with a sofa with matching fabric in August. I paid extra for premium fabric. I waited until March for the chair and then some weeks later for the sofa. The sofa was correct, the chair and ottoman had a cheaper, harsher fabric, not what I ordered. I contacted Ballard and they said that the fabric was discontinued, but the chair and ottoman came first wrong, and the sofa came later correct. They offered me a small discount, but I wanted what I ordered. Be careful. I know that there are supply chain issues, but this seemed extreme. Not what is expected of Ballard.
