We want you to be happy. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your purchase, simply return it within 90 days of the ship date for an exchange or refund (excluding Shipping & Processing fees). All products are guaranteed from defects for a full year.

Please carefully inspect your order upon delivery. If you receive damaged or defective merchandise, you may contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-536-7551 and a representative will be glad to arrange a return or exchange for you.

Please note: Any items that are monogrammed, customized, Customer's Own Material (COM), or made-to-order cannot be modified, cancelled, returned or exchanged unless damaged or defective. Defective items will be exchanged unless no longer available, in which case a Merchandise Certificate will be issued. Once a returned item is received in our warehouse, the return or exchange will be processed immediately. For credit card orders, you can expect to see your refund credit within 72 hours. For check and money orders, you can expect to receive your refund check within 7-10 business days.

Orders equal to and under $200 will be charged 15% of the total order value.

We offer Two Business Day or Next Business Day Expedited Shipping on many items. Expedited orders received by 4 pm ET Monday–Friday are shipped the same day.

Expedited order cut-offs may vary during weeks surrounding a federally recognized holiday.


Rates start at $25 for Two Business Day and $35 for Next Business Day and increase based on the size of your order. The amount will be calculated at check out or call us for a quote.

Truck Delivery

Generally available for delivery 2-3 weeks after shipping.


Threshold Truck Delivery

  • Items are unloaded by the driver and placed inside the first-floor doorway, garage, or covered area of your choice.
  • If the home is a multi-dwelling building, the items will be delivered inside the residence.
  • Assembly not included.


In-Home Truck Delivery

  • On many larger items, like furniture, you have the option to upgrade the delivery experience to In-Home Truck Delivery.
  • Some items only ship via In-Home Truck Delivery.
  • With our In-Home Truck Delivery service, the item will be brought inside in your home, unpacked, placed in its final destination, and packaging materials removed.
  • Assembly is not included.

What To Expect For Truck Deliveries

  1. After your items have shipped, you will be contacted by our delivery partner to schedule a day and 4 hour window for your delivery.
  2. When scheduling, share any restrictions or special circumstances that could impact your delivery including, but is not limited to:
    • Narrow roads
    • Restricted delivery times
    • Gated entrances
    • Proof of insurance requirements
    • Multiple flights of stairs
    • Service elevator restrictions
  3. Ensure that all items will fit through access points such as doorways, stairways, hallways, elevators, and around corners into the desired location.
  4. On the day of delivery, our delivery partner will call you approximately 30 minutes prior to arriving at your home.
  5. Please prepare for your delivery by ensuring clear pathways and removing any fragile items that could be damaged during the delivery. Our delivery provider is unable to move any existing furniture.
  6. Our delivery experience is contactless and your signature is not required. If you observe an imperfection, notify the delivery team and either refuse the item or contact us at 888-263-9850 for a resolution.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Made it work Read carefully, this bed requires a box spring. Box springs are seldom used now and there was no reason this bed should need one, all that has to be done is raise the framework where slats lay. Ordered queen bed and Ballard sent king slats so they needed to be cut down to fit. Instead ordered adjustable bed that sits inside bed frame. Had a similar set up before and it should be noted this bed is very skimpy inside so it's difficult to make the bed and push the covers down inside the side rails, there isn't enough room for your hand to push the covers inside and not even enough room for covers! Defeats the look of an upholstered bed. Will not recommend until the need for boxspring is resolved and the inside of mattress area expanded a tad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bed was made wrong and couldn’t be assembled I ordered this bed in June and it arrived in September (which was the projected date). But the bed arrived and one side rail was made incorrectly so the bed couldn’t be assembled. Now I’m waiting on a new side rail to be made which is taking another almost 3 months! So here I am nearly 6 months into this and all I have is a pile of bed parts taking up space in my living room and no new bed. Very disappointing experience. I will add that the manager of my local BD store (Tyler) has been great to work with on this but the problem is with the manufacturing end.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Ordered back in March and arrived in August in the wrong fabric! Called and spoke with Ballard Design. Unable to get expedited service even though it was their mistake and was told I would have to put in a whole new order and that the earliest I would receive would be the new year. Was also told that they knew they had made the mistake and still shipped it to us anyway.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waited Four Months and Delivered Pieced Material I ordered this CUSTOM bed in February and they finally delivered June 14. It was Coco fabric. The rolled outside top frame piece was PIECED one third of the way in from the right or the fabric is flawed and they sent it out that way. It is a glaringly apparent see across the room flaw. I reported it that day and said I wanted the headboard replaced and while the side boards and footboard were "wobbly" the type of fabric I would accept. The headboard no and the welt also crooked like a beginner had done the work.I was told I had to send pictures I said where to text they said had to send email I said I don't know how they said sorry cant' help you. THIS WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE CUSTOM BED that took four months they said made in US. Really? NOT A QUALITY PRODUCT.Leg on footboard kept needing tightened even during assembly.
