Great service!We had never heard of Ballard Designs until we saw an ad in Country Living. Found the Constance chairs, ordered 2 sets in the driftwood oak. Were very surprised to have them delivered only 2 days later. The chairs are very well wrapped for shipping. They are light weight but appear to be very sturdy. We are glad we took a chance and ordered. Very pleased with the chairs and the quick service.

Beautiful and comfortableI ordered four in the chestnut and love them so much I decided to order two more. I've gotten lots of compliments on them. Service was excellent. I ordered Monday night and received them Thursday. They were very well packed. I highly recommend these chairs and Ballard Design.

Love these chairs!!I was looking for a chair to put with my new desk and the Constance is exactly what I was looking for. I am fortunate to have a local Ballard's store and they had a floor model black set on clearance. These chairs are beautiful with just the right amount of distressing and the padded caned seats are very comfy. They are well made, sturdy and light weight. One is with my desk and the other is in a corner of the bedroom. Once again, love these chairs!!

Love Them!!I purchased six chairs in the chestnut finish to go with a round pine dining table made from reclaimed wood. I could not be happier with the chairs. The curved backs fit perfectly with the round table but I am sure they would look great with a rectangular table as well. We have a mix of antiques and modern furniture, and these chairs blend in nicely. The chairs are beautiful and well made - much nicer than some of the other chairs of similar design I have seen in stores. They are very lightweight, making them extremely easy to move around. Love them!

LOVE THEM!!Recently I purchased two sets (4) of these beautiful chairs. Not only were they the exact color I wanted, but the comfort was there too. The price was comparable and of good value. They were packed well with just minor imperfections which lends to their uniqueness. I paired these chairs with a tulip table and the set looks fantastic. Just what I pictured in my head. Thanks!!!

Love this beautiful chair.I have persistently checked furniture stores and the internet looking for my perfect dining chair, always returning to the constance chair. The chair has lovely lines, is very comfortable and easily moved, unlike my old, very heavy chairs. I now have six of these gorgeous chairs. Love, love, love them.

These chairs are very comfortable.We purchased six of the Constance chairs in the black finish. They arrived in perfect condidtion. They look wonderful with our glass top table. The black finish adds a contempary feel to the room. One note, the cane cushion color was not exactly what we were expecting as it has an ash tone, but it works well with the table. I highly recommend these chairs.

I love these chairs!!!I looked all over the web for unique chairs that were affordable. I have ordered often from Ballards and thought these chairs looked lovely. In person they exceded expectations!!! They are light weight, which I love, a warm brown color and best of all, excedingly comfortable! They have an attached rattan padding on the seat, which is attractive and comfy, and the curved X of the back adds good support. My husband sat in them for the first time and said "these are great!!!" I was so pleased I bought the matching backless bar stools too. Highly recommended!

Simple and elegant.I purchased 4 sets of these chairs and they are perfect in my dining room. I was looking for a low profile chair with a lot of style. These have the European flavor which I wanted. The finish is a warm honey brown and the padded caned seats are very comfortable.

Great purchaseWe bought the chairs several months ago. I liked the look of the padded, caned seats. Similar makers do not have caned seats. The finish is very nice and looks like the photo. My husband sat in other chairs with the same style back and was concerned that the back on the Ballard chairs would not be comfortable. The Ballard chairs have a broad back and are very comfortable. We are both very pleased.

Love the chairs but only one flawThe chairs fit in perfectly with my new remodeled kitchen.The designer did a great job in styling the chairs. They match the banquette and my table (chestnut finish) and give the whole kitchen an upgrade; but, however, the chair's bentwood strap on the left had a crack. It was not worth the trouble to exchange it. I will hope that the crack doesn't worsen and live with it.

This product has great valueAt the time of this review, we've had the chairs for 4 weeks.
We love the character that these chairs have: the X back that rounds at the cushion, the curves, even the bolts used. It's lightweight, easy to move around with one hand or knee or foot, while holding a kid or a plate and cup.
One negative is: it's a little hard to understand from the photos is that it has woven seat cushions. Think of a woven basket. So if there's a small piece that's chipped or broken, it can poke your leg or bottom when you sit on it. It's not one of those seat you can sit down on and slide your butt over without risking snagging fine clothes on. It's ok with jeans but you can feel it if you're wearing say, sweat pants or shorts.
Another negative is: because it's woven I can see a cup of milk would easily seep in between the weaves.
It would be fantastic if there's an option of all wood seat, or a leather or faux-leather seat cushion.
In the meantime, we really are happy with our purchase. They fit our budget, and are a great value, and a still has style to them.
Until the kids get older we'll either put them on plastic folding chairs, or put a towel on the seat for them, to make the seat cushions last longer.

Stylish and lightweightBottom line: They look good AND they feel good. I bought four for my breakfast nook because the eclectic style complements my mix of antiques, hand-me-downs, and new furniture. Love the comfy cane/wicker seats. The chairs are light enough to move around easily, and the paint treatment looks mostly as I expected -- deliberately worn, yet with a modern feel. My only knock would be that the rest of the paint job is almost too pristine; I like rustic. Best of all, they're comfortable. My friends and I sit in them for hours on game nights, and that's the best recommendation of all.

I like the European cafe style.The chairs are good looking, but we expected the stain to be darker and more even. They seem sturdy enough, but the seats feel hard. We like the look, so we are keeping them. If a darker stain is desired, perhaps the black chairs would work better. We like the look of the padded seats too.
