Very happy with the set
We purchased the “Breton 3 Piece Banquette-30” Bench, 48” Bench, & Corner Bench” from Ballard Designs. We are very happy with the set. It’s a very functional arrangement and offers plenty of storage under the 30” and 48” benches. There are adjustable feet (see photo) that allow for an additional 3/4 inch increase in seat height, so our final bench height is 14 3/4 inches. We wanted the final seat height to match our dining room chairs of 19 inches so we hired an upholstery seamstress to make our cushions and pillows. The cushions are 5 inches thick; you sink a bit when seated so it ends up being equivalent to our chairs. We hired “4Heidesign” on Etsy to make our cushions and pillows. She did an excellent job. Our kitchen nook is now what we had always hoped it would be-cute, comfortable, and useful.

Solid design
We bought this 2 months ago and couldn’t be happier. It’s was delivered on time, guys were great unpacking and setting it up. It’s solid and the storage is a great addition in the benches.

Very pleased
I am so glad we pulled the trigger and purchased this for our kitchen. We have limited space and it’s really a game changer. Two pieces arrived damaged, but customer service was amazing and they are sending a replacement. Great piece and great experience. Still on the hunt for a new table but this is how it looks with a 42” table for reference.

Breton 3 piece banquette
The boxes containing the benches were very heavy and difficult to maneuver. The seats of the benches are lower than average so you need to have at least a 4-inch cushion if you have an average height table. There were a few marks and other damage on the benches even though they were packaged with tons of cardboard and styrofoam. You will need lots of room to unpack them. They look very nice and The storage area is a great bonus.

Great seat but heavy hinged lid
A beautiful solid piece. Unfortunately, the hinged bench seat doesn’t remain open, but it closes on its own.

Paint issues
The paint is sloppy, cracked and worn off in some places. The rest of the bench is fine. Is a bit low.

Beautiful but...
I have now had this banquette for over a year. I love it. I love the storage. I love the look, and people of come over have adored it as well. My only problem is the height of the seats. They are lower than a standard chair. This may be standard for banquette seating, but it’s not the expectation you have when you sit down at the table. So shorter adult diners sit with a standard dining table at chest height. I love working with my computer in the banquette, but I have to use additional bottom pillows for height on top of the Ballard cushions— I’m 5’3”.

Not the best paint quality.
This furniture is new and the paint is chipping on the crevices and corners right out of the box.

Broken, poor quality furniture
My banquette arrived broken. Customer service is very easy to work with. They sent me a replacement. My second banquette arrived in worse shape than my first. I returned it for a full refund and will never buy furniture from Ballard again.
