Several people can be around me, and I am the only one getting bitten. It was great to find something that smells good and has no pesticides. The incense does burn quickly; I highly recommend purchasing extra.  I also purchased the coordinating holder too, looks great.  I have repurchased a hostess gift for a yard part. She called a few days later asking where I purchased them, she loved it.
