Please note: Any items that are monogrammed, customized, Customer's Own Material (COM), or made-to-order cannot be returned or exchanged unless damaged or defective. Defective items will be exchanged unless no longer available, in which case a Merchandise Certificate will be issued. Once a returned item is received in our warehouse, the return or exchange will be processed immediately. For credit card orders, you can expect to see your refund credit within 72 hours. For check and money orders, you can expect to receive your refund check within 7-10 business days.

Standard Delivery Orders are shipped by standard ground and usually arrive within 3-7 business days. Items ordered at the same time may not be delivered together.
Threshold Delivery Threshold Deliveries are made by standard truck, unloaded by the driver and placed inside the first-floor doorway, garage or covered area of your choice.
In-Home Delivery In-Home Deliveries are made by standard truck, placed inside your home wherever you like, inspected, and the packaging removed. Please allow an additional 2-3 weeks from Ship Date for your order to arrive. An agent will call to schedule your delivery. (Not available in all states.)
O/S (Oversized) Delivery Items that are heavy or bulky are subject to an Oversized Delivery surcharge. This charge is listed after the item price.
Express Delivery Express orders received by 3 p.m. EST are shipped the same day. For items under 15 lb., the following Express Delivery rates apply:

This chair works perfectly in our den.
We are thrilled with our Stratford chair. It is perfectly proportioned and well-constructed. The nailhead trim is nicely done and we couldn't be more pleased with the upholstery and the COM process. This is our most comfortable reading chair and currently the favorite spot in our home.

Great beautifully proportioned chair
I ordered this for a bedroom, with the aviary fabric. It's a beautiful chair especially for a compact space. Seat is not very deep, a tall person would probably be uncomfortable.

Well-made and comfortable
I needed/wanted a comfortable reading chair and this chair fits the bill. I also ordered the matching ottoman, which I can pull out and push out of the way to create more space when not in use.
I ordered the chair and ottoman in danish linen honey, with the mahogany finish on the legs. I love the array of fabrics and finishes Ballards offers to customize furnishings.
Both items are well-made and very comfortable (down-filled cushions). I had a 15% discount coupon, so I definitely feel that I got my money's worth since they are so well made and look more expensive than they were.
Both were well-packaged and the in-home delivery service on the chair was professional, prompt and courteous. They called once to confirm delivery and then called again to let me know that they were on their way to my home.
Would definitely order furniture again from Ballards.

So comfortable!
I couldn't be happier with my recent purchase. The quality and comfort of the chair is great! It is honestly one of the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in - my friends and family agree!
Ballard Designs was great working with me throughout this process. I had to change the delivery address since I was moving and they were able to easily accomidate!
