Shipping Information

What is Super Simple Shipping?

It's our way of taking the guesswork and frustration out of the shipping equation. No matter what you order, shipping charges will always be $150 or less with standard delivery.

Need the item express shipped or want the delivery upgraded to in-home? No problem - we can still take care of that for an additional charge.

Standard Shipping:

This is our most cost effective delivery route for items large and small.

Smaller items are shipped via standard ground service and will generally arrive in 3-7 business days. Note: Items ordered at the same time may not be delivered together.

Larger items shipped via threshold are delivered through a truck service and will generally arrive 2-3 weeks from the date it leaves our warehouse. With threshold service, you will expect a call from a delivery agent to schedule a 4-hour window for the delivery (Monday-Friday, 8am - 8pm). These items are unloaded by the driver and placed inside the first floor doorway, garage or covered area of your choice.

In-Home Shipping:

For an additional $25 per item, this is our white glove service and will include bringing the item into your home, inspecting it, removing packaging materials and placing the item in its final destination. Assembly is not included. Note: In the event that you see any damage to the box or item itself, please refuse delivery or notate physical damage when signing and contact us immediately.

In-Home deliveries are typically made 2-3 weeks from the date it leaves our warehouse. You will expect a call from a delivery agent to schedule a 4-hour window for the delivery (Monday-Friday, 8am - 8pm).

Express Shipping:

For faster delivery and additional fee, we offer Next Business Day and Two Business Day express service. Express orders received by 4pm EST are shipped the same day.

How do you calculate standard shipping charges?

For standard shipping, orders under $1,000 will have a standard 15% charge from your total order. Orders over $1,000 will have a flat $150 charge.

*Orders placed in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico & US Virgin Islands will have additional costs.

Weekend or After Hours Delivery freight (LARGE) items?

Weekend and after hours deliveries for your larger items, which require a scheduled window of time for delivery, may be available in limited areas at an additional cost. Please contact us via email or 1-800-536-7551 to receive a special shipping quote.

International Shipping

Ballard Designs is happy to coordinate the shipping of our products outside the U.S. However, deliveries outside the continental United States may require additional shipping charges. A customer service representative from Ballard will contact you within one to three business days after your order to provide a final shipping quote before your order is shipped or any charges are applied to your credit card. When placing your order, please be sure to include an email address or fax number so we can contact you with a quote.

Please be aware that our quotes for shipping outside the U.S. and Puerto Rico do not include any applicable duty, value added taxes (VAT), or import consumption taxes. The recipient of the merchandise will be required to pay the duty or VAT upon delivery. Due to import duty valuation adjustments and currency valuations, we are unable to provide an estimate for duty or VAT.

Also, please be aware that although Ballard supports manufacturer's warranties, our return guarantee does not include freight charges for international returns. If for any reason the recipient chooses to return a product from outside the U.S., international shipping charges must be pre-paid.

Can I return or pick up items from your store?

Retail: Retail stores carry prime merchandise at full cost.

You can visit one of our retail locations and if you are unable to find what you are looking for, we will be happy to accommodate you by placing your order. Please note that all orders will ship from one of our distribution centers and shipping and handling may apply, contact the store for details. Items purchased at the store can be returned but our retail stores will not be able to accept returns for products purchased at either our outlet store, online, or through our catalogs.
