This may not be the primary reason for getting this type of tread but it sure has made our 14 year old happy. As he gets more arthritis in his hip joints movement becomes more difficult. The treads stay in place and do the job.

I love the no slip feature on the Highgate Doormat-Stair Treads
This is an appealing and useful product; they look great and help on a slippery surface. My one complaint is the fact that water has no escape; it pools and stands in the open areas. It would be a perfect product if water had an escape route during a heavy rain. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the product. I would buy as a gift regardless of the problem with collecting water.

Functional and beautiful.
I needed treads for my indoor stairs that lead out to my patio and these are perfect. Elegent enough for inside and tough enough to protect the stairs.

Great for Winter
Worked perfectly for our slippery painted wood front porch steps. Kept everyone from slipping and protected the wood when we had to shovel off the stairs this winter.

Great product.
I originally bought 3 sets of these stair treads along with a double doormat. I looked all over to find just the right product. I was looking for the closest dimensions to my stairs and I wanted something that looked great. I was pleasantly surprised when the delivery person struggled up my driveway with two huge boxes. These stair treads are heavy duty and at a great price. I am a price shopper and the only stair treads that were cheaper were junk. At the price, I was impressed for the quality of these stair treads. They really dressup the entrance of my house. I immediately received compliments from family and friends. In fact, these treads are so nice that I just placed an order for 4 more sets and I am probably going to order a couple more doormats. From start to finish, I have been very pleased with my experience at Ballard Designs.

Watch out for wet surfaces
These treads are beautiful addition to our back steps. However, need to be careful to put them down on a dry surface as they slip easily if surface is wet. I stepped on them and they moved under foot. Make sure steps are dry before putting them down.

High quality
The treads are of sturdy rubber. They stay put on my painted wooden (and otherwise very slippery) porch stairs. They are easy to shovel off snow. They make walking up our stairs safe in a Midwestern winter and I am pleased with my purchase. Well worth the price.

Attractive and practical
I bought these to improve safety on the slippery-when-wet back steps of our colonial house. The style goes with the architecture of the house and the treads are heavy enough to stay in place. An attractive and [practical solution.

Perfect solution to slippery stairs
I love this set of 4 decorative stair treads. We have a corner entry with two steps up from either side, so the four treads look very nice as well as provide safe footing. I think I will order another set for my elderly parents' front entry steps.

Sturdy and good looking
These treads are great so far. Shake to clean off. Product feels heavy and stays in place on my outdoor porch stairs. Makes it easier to keep the stairs safe and less slick when rain and snow arrive.

excellent quality
I initially bought four to replace some old stair treads. These are so much better than the old stair treads that I have bought more for the other steps. They are cushiony and heavy enough to stay in place.

could not find..
Hi!! Very simple...stair treads!! That was all I wanted..could not find nowhere. My steps are an odd size, and they are rather old. This was perfect!! They still look as new as the day I received them..thank you!!

It hasn't snowed yet so I can't say how they'll perform in icy conditions, but so far these are pretty, they stay put, and they seem like they'll last a really long time. Great purchase.

I purchased the stair treads and matching doormat based on the positive reviews I read. Wow -- even better than expected! They are very substantial and well-made and are perfect for my wood deck stairs that get slippery in rain and snow. I highly recommend these.

good quality & value
These exterior stair treads do the job for which I purchased them for the average-sized everyday user.
I didn't read the height/thickness prior to purchase, and they are thicker than I anticipated; only a problem when one isn't paying full attention and step on an edge which has caused a fall (user error). We will also likely nail them down to our wood steps, as one regular visitor here has size 14+ feet and often kicks at least one tread out of place, even though they are heavy treads.

Really pleased with the stair treads!
I'm totally pleased with the stair treads. Wooden steps tend to get slippery, and the treads both look good and are very functional. An added plus is that they give my senior basset hound extra traction when she goes up and down the steps. We attached them firmly with large staples, which I touched up with a black paint pen. Many thanks for an excellent product.

Very Happy
I bought these stairtreds to help my old dogs from slipping on my composite decking stairs. They are working very well. They are heavy enough not to slide and look nice as well. Wish I had found them years ago.

Attractive yet functional
The iron scrollwork stair treads look great yet protected our guests from slipping during our harsh, snowy winter. Now that it's nearly spring, they still look brand new! Love them because they do not have to be attached yet stay in place due to their quality!

I live in an area where, this year, we have had snow, ice or both since Thanksgiving week. These stair treads assure me that no one will be slipping on thier way to my front door. One of my most useful purchases to date and they look great too!

Perfect for the job!
Our house has 3 exit doors, all leading to wooden steps. The mats enabled us to actually leave the house safely as the steps become treacherous in winter with the snow and ice. Great product and they look good too.

Well made
I love these stair treasds. I hvve them outside all year round. The first set is just starting to show ware and they have been out there for 5 years. Now I've added more. They protect the wooden deck and keep us from slipping in the snowy months. Occationally they need vaccuming and use a broom to remove the snow.

Looks Great and Highly Functional!
Complements the door mat I purchased. Cooper planters sit on top. Provides a barrier between planter and concrete, thus preventing any staining of concrete when planters are wet (from rain or watering).
