Stylish, beautiful and sturdy
This basket surpassed my expectations. It is well woven, holds lots of towels, laundry, etc. It looks wonderful where we chose to place it and would buy it again.

Really like it, large and very attractive. I have the washed gray in my living room, might order it in natural for my sewing projects.

Simply perfect!
I purchased two of the gray baskets because they looked so attractive but had no real thought of how I was going to use them. Well......they were simply made to hold the my decorative bed pillows. The ones that make the bed look fabulous but are a real pain to take off and store every night. These large but light looking baskets hold all the pillows at night and simply stand by the night tables during the day looking pretty. I love this purchase (and the price).

Awful
Should have listened to other reviews...very stiff as mentioned and that might have been ok, but some tacky gold paint highlights as well. Would return, but in middle of move to new home, easier to toss or give away at this point. I have had success before!, but now concerned, esp with items like this that are bulky and hard to return...at what point shouldnt you take a product out of your catalogue?

Provence Market Basket
The basket was a pleasant surprise. Much larger than I expected. Very sturdy construction - Holds all my unfinished knitting/crocheting projects. Doesn't take up too much space, as it is very deep. Packed well and arrived quickly.

Gorgeous Basket
I ordered this basket a while ago from Ballard. It was on backorder at the time, but Ballard kept me informed of availability and shipped it as soon as they got it in stock. It's beautiful and very well made. I bought it in natural and have it sitting in my den storing our extra blankets. If you're contemplating buying it, you should. I don't think you'd be disappointed at the quality and price.

Best laundry baskets I've seen
I just love these baskets. I ordered 2 of them-one for accumulating and carting dirty clothes from the bedrooms to the laundry room and one for bringing the clean folded clothes back to the bedrooms. They were a little stiff at first and I wasn't sure I could carry them with one hand, but they loosened up and now are perfect. Even my husband commented on how much he likes them. Great product!

nice looking
This is an attractive large basket that is very useful for a wide variety of possible uses. The problem with the basket was that some of the strings which weave the actual natural material together were cut. The basket had a huge open seam in it. Rather than send it back, I just glued it back together. Luckily, the seagrass is a material that takes glue well, and the basket has held up well.

Lovely and Functional!
I've been searching for a basket to store/display blankets and throws, and the Provence Market Basket was exactly the thing. I ordered the Dark Wash Gray, and it is a lovely, roomy and functional basket that looks amazing in my living space. I was surprised at the size - it is substantially large, and very versatile. I feel lucky to have found such a nice basket at a very reasonable price.

Recommended with reservations
Size, shape and style of this basket are great and just what I wanted, however the dye that gives it its beautiful grey color is very thinly applied. If you hit the basket, small pieces fall off and leave the original light color showing through. In fact when I opened the boxes (I bought 2) shipping had caused pieces to break off also. So way too fragile for storage, good for display.

Huge..attractive..well made
I use it for laundry and I really love how big it is.
The handles are a good size and the basket is sturdy.
I've been using it for a month and it seems fine.
I prefer a natural basket to a plastic one. Eventually they both wear out, but the natural looks attractive and is better for the environment.
This one should last for years.

This basket has a soft look and is very sturdy.
This is such a beautiful basket. I have it next to my loveseat with rolled up throw blankets. I ordered the dark color and my daughter purchased the lighter one. The sides have a very soft look, but they are sturdy enough to stand up straight while filled with my blankets or her kids toys. I would absolutely recommend this basket.

Lovely proportions and shape
This basket is aesthetically pleasing. Its proportions are lovely, the handles feel right in the hands, the materials are substantial without being rigid or heavy. I bought it to use as a laundry basket and do wish it was just a tiny bit bigger to match the size of a load of laundry. Maybe I'll just have to have a second one!

Great size and structure
I purchased light and dark baskets and like them both. Ample size for magazines and will be using one for laundry. Very pleased that it holds its shape. I did think it would be more flexible and bend more easily, but that fact that it doesn't does not change how I intend to use them.

Beautiful basket
This basket arrived today and it is beautiful. They had it in stock so it arrived less than a week after I ordered it. Mine has no rough spots, is very sturdy and I look forward to many years of use from it whether I use it as a laundry basket, a catch all in the family room or as a decorative piece. I highly this product.

Absolutely Perfect
I am pleasantly surprised with my Provence Market Basket. I ordered the dark gray one and it is absolutely perfect and well worth the money. It's a great value and it looks fabulous in my living room storing throws and extra pillows. I will definitely order one in natural to store my towels in my guest bathroom.

Great looking basket!
I ordered 3 of these baskets to sit next to each other and they are the perfect size for hiding toys and giving a little visual interest to my living room. My only complaint is the nearly 4 months it took to have them shipped. I am glad I waited as they are one of my favorite design elements in the room now!

The Market Basket has a thousand uses.
I received this as a gift for my birthday from a friend with great taste! Her note said it has a thousand uses and she is right! I love it. It's large enough to hold magazines, yarns, a large flower arrangement... I could go on and on. But it's not so large that it's overpowering in a cottage-like setting.

Love it
I thought this was too good of a price as I had been shopping for baskets to throw a few blankets in in our living room for awhile- I expected to get it and have it be much smaller than I thought but its perfect! Love it. I got the darker color and would definitley recommend. Great basket and great price!

Wish it was better...
I really wanted to love this basket. But it is not shaped nicely. One side is the way it looks in the catalog but the other side is squared. I use it for quilts and just drape one of them over the misshaped end. I like the basket but I just didn't get that 5 star rating feel like others got.

Great basket, great price
I ordered one of each color of this basket and had to wait a while to get them but they are well worth the wait. Very well made, big enough to hold whatever you may want but not too big to carry, and they look great! I'm very happy with my purchase.....especially since I got them on sale!

Nice basket
This is a nice basket that I plan to use for extra pillows/blankets in the family room. It was on back order for a very long time and was delayed a few times after that, so that was disappointing. Overall, it is a nice basket...maybe a little pricey for what it is but it looks nice.

Love this basket
I needed a basket that could carry a lot! This basket carries a very full load of laundry plus some. This basket is even better than I expected. It's very attractive and super functional what more can anyone ask for. I may order a couple more. Just love it! And arrived very quickly.

What a basket!
This basket is everything I needed. It arrived packaged with great care which I appreciated. It was perfect and large and is outstanding by my rattan reading chair. I use it specifically to store my 2 daily newspapers and they fit perfectly. Can't say enough. Very good choice.

Beautiful
I have a weakness for woven baskets, as one could easily see by looking around my home. This is a beautiful one. It's a bit larger than I expected, so I'm not using it for the intended purpose but enjoying it just the same. Be sure to check the dimensions on this one!

Very Versatile
Great accent piece. This very large strong basket can hold a variety of items. Looks lovely filled with vintage linens as well as dried botanicals. I ordered the dark grey and although it was somewhat darker than expected I was very pleased with the purchase overall.

Beautiful, practical and a sturdy basket
I purchased three of the Provence Market Baskets to be used for storing various items in my home. The baskets have exceeded my expectations as they are quite large, very sturdy and have a lovely appearance. I am very happy with this purchase from Ballard Designs.

Provence Market Basket
This is a beautiful basket. Lovely design that will fit well into any style of home. It is very sturdy and well-made. I use it all over the house, from holding blankets, to carrying things from upstairs to downstais (and visa versa). You will love this basket!

larger than i thought!
i tried ordering this last year, but there was a backup..
i love the shape, look of this basket but did not read the dimensons and it is much larger than i thought...but not to worry, i have found the perfect place for it...how about some in a smaller size? :)
