We want you to be happy. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your purchase, simply return it within 90 days of the ship date for an exchange or refund (excluding Shipping & Processing fees). All products are guaranteed from defects for a full year.

Please carefully inspect your order upon delivery. If you receive damaged or defective merchandise, you may contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-536-7551 and a representative will be glad to arrange a return or exchange for you.

Please note: Any items that are monogrammed, customized, Customer's Own Material (COM), or made-to-order cannot be returned or exchanged unless damaged or defective. Defective items will be exchanged unless no longer available, in which case a Merchandise Certificate will be issued. Once a returned item is received in our warehouse, the return or exchange will be processed immediately. For credit card orders, you can expect to see your refund credit within 72 hours. For check and money orders, you can expect to receive your refund check within 7-10 business days.

Standard Delivery
Orders are shipped by standard ground and usually arrive within 3-7 business days. Items ordered at the same time may not be delivered together.

Threshold Delivery
Threshold Deliveries are made by standard truck, unloaded by the driver and placed inside the first-floor doorway, garage or covered area of your choice.

In-Home Delivery
In-Home Deliveries are made by standard truck, placed inside your home wherever you like, inspected, and the packaging removed. Please allow an additional 2-3 weeks from Ship Date for your order to arrive. An agent will call to schedule your delivery. (Not available in all states.)

O/S (Oversized) Delivery
Items that are heavy or bulky are subject to an Oversized Delivery surcharge. This charge is listed after the item price.

Express Delivery
Express orders received by 3 p.m. EST are shipped the same day.
For items under 15 lb., the following Express Delivery rates apply:

  • Two day service, add $9.95
  • Next day service, add $19.95
  • Alaska, Puerto Rico, USVI & Hawaii, add $9.95 (Express Delivery required)

Swatch Shipping
Ballard Designs offers up to 10 free swatches for all of our fabrics for a small fee of $5.95 for shipping and processing. It will take 3-7 business days for your swatches to arrive. The swatches are approximately a 3" X 3" square.

Paris Leather Recliner 3.7 5 15 15
Paris Chair -Hard seat cushion and LOW arms First of all - let me start out with saying that Ballard Design has an amazing customer service department. When I read the reviews for the Paris Chair and got the sample of the almond leather, I felt the chair would be perfect. When it arrived, it was indeed beautiful but two problems: first, where the top of the seat back curves around, it appeared the stitching did not grab the leather and thus there was a hole of sorts at that seam....reason enough to exchange the chair as I feared the leather would tear further with time. But, my second complaint and the reason I opted for a refund and not an exchange: The height of the arms is just a few inches above the seat cushion, or rather the seat sits up high and the arms are low...whatever...it is not user friendly for reading the paper or a book because you cannot rest your arms on the arm of the chair. Then, when pushed back as a recliner, my husband's neck and head dangled over the back edge...granted he is 6'5" so warning to tall customers...this chair is meant for really short people All in all, it is beautiful, but the recliner seat cushion is hard, the arms low and the back does not work well in the reclined position. I was soooo sad, as I have decorated my room around this wonderful warm almond color...now, the chair is gone and I have a void in my room and my design plan. Looks good but not at all comfortable I had high hopes for our 2 new Paris recliners. They came in and they looked very smart and handsome. The shipping company was a joy to work with -great service. Our happiness stopped there. The seats are so hard that one feels as though one is sitting on a perch. After a short time back and neck begins to hurt as a result of there being little support for such. Chair backs curve to back of chair away from back and neck and our feet hang over the front of rests. Perhaps if you could sit lower in chair things might be better. I thought of having seat cushions remade with more softness and give. Not sure I want to throw good money after bad. My husband is miserable and I' ll probably be shopping for 2 new recliners. Hate to admit it to him but my neck has been pained after a short time Sitting in them. Think Ballard needs to go back to drawing board on these. We enjoy relaxing with TV in evenings but not with these chairs. June 21, 2012
Quality issues on 3 chairs We loved the look of this recliner and ordered in Almond. The first chair's back separated shortly after arriving, so we ordered a 2nd, which arrived with a defect in the leather on the front of chair, so we returned it for a 3rd. The 3rd chair had multiple marks on the leather in visible places and a hole on the side where the sewing to the piping was flawed and caused stuffing to show. We have returned and are going a different path. Very disappointed in the quality control esp for a $1000+ item. I will say that Customer Service was very good to deal with at Ballard -- no hassles in the return process. October 31, 2012
Uncomfortably awkward I was so excited to order this chair. My excitement faded once it arrived. The seat is very hard and doesn't give so you're raised up while sitting. The chocolate color seems to have a red tone to it. I'm returning the product. Not worth the hassle. March 26, 2013
