Please carefully inspect your order upon delivery. If you receive damaged or defective merchandise, you may contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-536-7551 and a representative will be glad to arrange a return or exchange for you.
Special delivery methods are noted in the item description.
Standard Delivery
Orders are shipped by standard ground and usually arrive within 3-7 business days. Items ordered at the same time may not be delivered together.
Threshold Delivery
Threshold Deliveries are made by standard truck, unloaded by the driver and placed inside the first-floor doorway, garage or covered area of your choice.
In-Home Delivery
In-Home Deliveries are made by standard truck, placed inside your home wherever you like, inspected, and the packaging removed. Please allow an additional 2-3 weeks from Ship Date for your order to arrive. An agent will call to schedule your delivery.
Express Delivery
Express orders received by 3 p.m. EST are shipped the same day.
For items under 15 lb., the following Express Delivery rates apply:
- Two day service, add $9.95
- Next day service, add $19.95
- Alaska, Puerto Rico, USVI & Hawaii, add $9.95 (Express Delivery required)

Swatch Shipping
Ballard Designs offers up to 10 free swatches for all of our fabrics for a small fee of $5.95 for shipping and processing. It will take 3-7 business days for your swatches to arrive. The swatches are approximately a 3" X 3" square.

The moment it appeared, we knew it would become a Ballard classic. Lower in profile than most beds, the Louisa Bed is handcrafted from solid maple and poplar with stained bun feet and padded, fully upholstered head and footboards. Extra wide side rails hide the box spring so there's no need for a bed skirt. California King not available.

This product was not what I thought it would be.

I have this bed from Ballard in queen-size. I loved it so much I ordered another one when I purchased a king-size mattress. For some reason the footboard on the king is about 12-15 inches shorter than the queen-size. So my king mattress is much higher than the rolled footboard. It doesn't look great, however I'm stuck with it. I just don't know why the footboard would be so much shorter on the king-size bed. On the plus side, the fabric is great (ivory pintuck) and it arrived much sooner than was promised.

Beds are beautiful....

but, the king size bed is an "eastern king" which is not indicated when ordering online. This type of king is 4" wider than a traditional one, so the box spring is much more exposed than expected. The king size bed also comes with only two slats to support the box springs, so the bed actually "pops up" if you sit near the top or the bottom of the mattress. Oddly enough, the queen size has three slats? I contacted Ballard's about an extra slat for the king in August, and have not yet received it as of 9/28/11. Assembly directions are somewhat difficult to understand. For such a high priced item, disappointing.
