Please note: Any items that are monogrammed, customized, Customer's Own Material (COM), or made-to-order cannot be returned or exchanged unless damaged or defective. Defective items will be exchanged unless no longer available, in which case a Merchandise Certificate will be issued. Once a returned item is received in our warehouse, the return or exchange will be processed immediately. For credit card orders, you can expect to see your refund credit within 72 hours. Standard Delivery Orders are shipped by standard ground and usually arrive within 3-7 business days. Items ordered at the same time may not be delivered together.
Threshold Delivery Threshold Deliveries are made by standard truck, unloaded by the driver and placed inside the first-floor doorway, garage or covered area of your choice.
In-Home Delivery In-Home Deliveries are made by standard truck, placed inside your home wherever you like, inspected, and the packaging removed. Please allow an additional 2-3 weeks from Ship Date for your order to arrive. An agent will call to schedule your delivery. (Not available in all states.)
O/S (Oversized) Delivery Items that are heavy or bulky are subject to an Oversized Delivery surcharge. This charge is listed after the item price.
Express Delivery Express orders received by 3 p.m. EST are shipped the same day. For items under 15 lb., the following Express Delivery rates apply:

Love the looks of this chair!
I was really excited to order the Louis XVI sidechair to pair with a small writing desk given to me from my grandmother when she moved into a smaller apartment. The best part was being able to pick wood finish and upholstery for a custom look. I was planning on ordering more of this chair later to mix with my current dining table chairs. After receiving it however, I probably won't order more upholstered pieces from Ballards. It seems very sturdy and I love the look/design and finish of the chair but the seat/back cushion is extremely firm. I don't know what material the cushioning is but it is QUITE uncomfortable, I can't emphasize this enough. Very disappointing as it looks so inviting until you actually sit on it. I will use it strictly as an accent piece.

chair
I got this chair in linen and chocolate velvet and while it's lovely to look at it's not that practical to sit in. I originally wanted to have these chairs in my dining room so I ordered one. I must say they are rather light in weight and we were afraid our guests would tip backwards in them so I didn't order any more. It's currently sitting in a guest bedroom. Pretty to look at but I would not recommend sitting in it. Also the velvet material is not as high quality as I would like for upholstery.

Amazingly beautiful chair
I purchased 4 of these chairs in Suzanne Kessler's Mineral with the beige wood. They have an absolutely stunning design, but they are also surprisingly comfortable. Perhaps Ballard added extra padding to the chair. The chairs did take several weeks for the special order, but they arrived a couple weeks early with a flawless delivery.

The craftsmanship of the chairs is excellent; however, I wish that they were bigger in all dimensions.
