French Bistro Comfort Mat
The French Bistro Comfort Mat is quite spiffy in the kitchen. It's easy to clean & it's very durable. It has a nice cushion to it so it's nice under your foot while doing prep work. It is true to the picture on Ballard's website. All & all, I would recommend for others.

Great Look & Feel
I shopped lots of gel mats, etc. everywhere before purchasing this mat. Placed in front of my sink it definately helps the feet when chopping veggies or doing dishes. I really like the design which is a lot more interesting than anything in the gel mats and looks great in my black and white kitchen. I noticed before purchasing many people complaining about the smell. I did not find that to be a problem at all. Smells a little when you first unwrap but was easily gone overnight. Don't let it deter you.

Terrific
I am really enjoying the French Bistro Comfort Mat. You can immediately tell the difference from standing on the hard floor to standing on the mat. (Also my beautiful Siamese cat also loves the mat and I have to ask her to move so I can get to the sink!)

French Bistro Comfort Mats/ THE BEST!!!!
I ordered 2 of these mats for my Kitchen and absolutely love them!!! I have placed one by my stove & the other by the sink. My feet just love them. I'm actually going to order another for my pantry & give one as a gift.

So disappointed, should have returned it sooner!
After loving the photo in your catalog, and considering the high price (large size) for a long time, finally ordered this pretty mat. Well, it's not so pretty in my kitchen, faded grey water mark look, terrible smell, and worse of all it's peeling on all four edges! Also, I expected it to be as stated, a "comfort mat", it's just a very thin foam, not a gel at all. Bummed out, want to "do-over"!!! NOT TRUE, the spongy rubber is NOT extra thick. There is no way I could put this in my washing machine.

Exceeded my expectations!
Upon reading some other consumer reviews I will admit that I had some concerns about the odor with these mats but decided to take a chance anyhow and ordered two for my kitchen. I must say they exceeded my expectations! Yes there was a mild rubbery odor for a few days but it quickly dissipated. They are very comfortable to stand on, are easy to clean, and add a pop of fun & interest to my hardwood floor. I've only had them about a month but at this point I love them and would highly recommend them!

Bistro Rug
This rug looks great and is really comfortable underfoot. The only disapppointing thing was the overpowering rubber smell that persisted for about a month. I actually kept it outside for three weeks because the odor was so strong. Love it now!

I love this mat!
I agree with the others about the smell, but I kept it on the floor next to an air register and it went away after a few days. The adorable style and French writing on this mat is what makes it so unique! I have received so many compliments on this mat! Granted, it is not as "gel like" as the gel pros, but is very comfortable to stand on regardless. I love the fact that it can be easily vacuumed or swept and so far, it has been very stain and water resistant. I would definitely recommend this mat!

It's got style
This is by far, the most stylish comfort mat I have ever seen and I love the extra long size. It's easy to care for too. But it's not the most cushy mat I have experienced. Still, I'll take the style over comfort in mats and in shoes!

Worth the initial smell
As others noted, the rubber/chemical smell is awful when you open the box. I left it outside for a week or so, draped across the arms of a chair so it could air out on both sides. It's very comfortable and incredibly attractive now.

Comfy and Cute!
There are cheaper comfort mats out there, but this mat is much cuter! It goes perfectly in my kitchen in front of the sink. I am considering getting the square version for in front of the stove. Did not disappoint!

Floor Mats Perk up Kitchen Decor and More...
Replacing my plain black mats with these bistro inspired menu floor mats was an easy decision. The fact that they are so comfortable underfoot and reduce the "trip" factor are unexpected bonuses. C'est magnifique!

Chic and Comfortable, Mais Oui!
I bought this mat because it's so cute -- a French bistro chalkboard -- so creative -- especially when many 'chef's mats' look more like rubber boot-parks. This mat reminds me of Paris and is super comfortable.

Love the Mats!!
They add so much to our kitchen. Not only beautiful on the floor but very comfortable under your feet. Really makes standing for long periods of time more comfortable.

Perfect addition to a Country French kitchen!
Perfect addition to a Country French kitchen, and "the cush" makes it easy on the legs when standing at the kitchen sink. I purchased the small rectangluar size, which was ideal in front of a 36" sink area.

Bothersome Fumes
This product has introduced bothersome fumes into our home. The material in these mats exudes very strong-smelling vapors and we find this very frustrating in view of the attractiveness of these products.

Product is unique as well as functional
I am enjoying the French bistro mat. It is a generous size and truly is so comfortable to stand on. The menu motif is fun and gives a custom made feeling.Easy to clean. Very happy with this purchase.

Lots of Compliments
Love the mat, nice and cushy, makes standing easier on the legs and back. A plus...we dropped a glass and it didn't shatter. We're sure the cushion helped keep the glass in our collection.

I love these rugs!
I would definitely recommend these rugs! They pop in my kitchen and I saw some other posts about potential rubber smell. I've not experienced that with mine. Get them before they are gone!

Looks great!
This is everything that was advertised. The comfort level is high, and it is easy to clean. It is wide enough (I got the medium) to easily cover the floor space on a double sink.

Looks good and is comfortable.
The mat smelled like rubber for over 3 weeks even though I aired it out for two weeks outdoors. Finally after a month, it is fine and I enjoy using it and the way it looks.cokni

THEY ARE SO COMFORTABLE TO STAND ON

Nice looking, very comfortable on the back
My only complaint would be when it first arrived it had a terrible rubber smell - had to leave it outside for a while and it still smelled - doesn't anymore, and looks nice.

Love this mat
Besides being the perfect colors for my black and white kitchen, it is so comfortable to stand on at the sink. It catches all the drips and saves my hardwood floors.

Very attractive, thick and comfortable.
I am very pleased with this comfort mat. I ordered the largest one for my sink and dishwasher area, and liked it so much I also got another one for the stove area.
The mats are very attractive, I like that they are dark, they look great on my wood floors.
The odor problem is minimal. I had my mat outside for a day, and after that there was hardly any odor.
I had other, more expensive floor mats before, and they didn't look good after washing.
I hope this one will last a long time.

Funny Smell
I just got my rugs yesterday. I really like the look and feel. However, they have a funny rubber smell to them. Has anyone else had this problem? Does it go away?

Mats
I like the others received them with a rubber tire odor but once I put them down within a day it was gone. I love, love my mats. I highly recommend them.

I was worried about other reviews complaining about rubber smell, but thankfully had no issues at all. It's a fun decorative touch to the kitchen!

Love it!!!
Not only is it comfortable, holds flat to the floor and is a wonderful design, it cleans very easily with the wipe of a wet sponge. Love it!
