Threshold Delivery Threshold Deliveries are made by standard truck, unloaded by the driver and placed inside the first-floor doorway, garage or covered area of your choice.
In-Home Delivery In-Home Deliveries are made by standard truck, placed inside your home wherever you like, inspected, and the packaging removed. Please allow an additional 2-3 weeks from Ship Date for your order to arrive. An agent will call to schedule your delivery. (Not available in all states.)

solid and beautiful
I used for extra plate storage. they are solid and were sturdy on the wall. Nice open air feel. The pot rack is from ballard too.

13+Years In My Kitchen. Would buy again! (Only one accident.)
I bought three of these shelves about 13 years ago from the Ballard Designs mail catalog. They have been holding our plates and bowls ever since. They make beautiful open kitchen shelving, replacing a closed door cupboard hanging over the counter extension/bar area that I had trouble reaching into. They are quite beefy and heavy. The only reason I didn't rate this 5 stars is that there is (at least in the sets I own) no connection of the shelf brackets to the shelf itself, with the heavy shelf relying completely on gravity to stay in place. This was really only an issue once when removing all items to wipe the shelf surfaces and unfortunately I leaned on the front edge of one shelf, resulting in the shelf tipping off the bracket and my most treasured wedding gift hurling to the floor and shattering. I would suggest using a strong double-sided foam tape or similar, or a screw driven from the shelf down into the brackets to attach the pieces once hung in order to avoid such an accident.

Despite arriving damaged, we're up and running
First, about the color. I ordered the white 5' shelf, and after reading previous reviews, I was worried that the color would be almost beige, but it's not. It's not an optical--i.e., true, bright--white, but it's not beige, either. It's a soft, just barely off-white. I didn't have any problems with the color. I'm using it over my fireplace as a mantle, and it matches the fireplace trim just fine. Next, the shelf arrived with the flat piece that the moulding surrounds--the board that comprises the actual shelf surface--completely popped out of the frame. There was also a ding in the front piece of moulding. It took an entire day just to go out and buy Gorilla Glue and glue the whole thing back together. Once that mess was out of the way and I'd found screws with shafts that were long enough to support the weight of the shelf + what was going on it, but that also had screw-heads small enough to go into the brackets' mounting holes, the whole thing went up easily and the shelf looks great. More of a hassle than it should have been, but final product looks very good. I made a template by placing a piece of white paper over the bracket mounting holes and rubbing them with the side of a pencil lead. That way you can position your holes without having to use the bracket itself, which is next to impossible.
