Threshold Deliveries are made by standard truck, unloaded by the driver and placed inside the first-floor doorway, garage or covered area of your choice.
In-Home Delivery
In-Home Deliveries are made by standard truck, placed inside your home wherever you like, inspected, and the packaging removed. Please allow an additional 2-3 weeks from Ship Date for your order to arrive. An agent will call to schedule your delivery. (Not available in all states.)

Items that are heavy or bulky are subject to an Oversized Delivery surcharge. This charge is listed after the item price.

Piece of garbage
First off the rug to over 2 months to receive. When it was finally delivered it was a straw mess of a rug. Looked nothing like the picture, fringes were long and hay-like. THe rug was crooked didnt even lay flat. Wouldn't put this in a barn. Now I have to return it!

Updated look
I love the look, texture, & color palette of this rug. It gives an instant updated look to our family room. It has warm tones and the braided texture definitely gives the rug interest. The smell dissipated within a week and the built-in underpadding is a nice feature. I felt like the colors are warmer & deeper in person than in the online photo. The photo on the website makes the rug look more washed out than it really is.
It is slightly rough & lumpy underfoot, but not too uncomfortable to walk on. The kids don't really like to lay on the floor to watch tv with this rug the way they did with our previous wool rug.
I would definitely recommend this rug for a casual, updated look.

beautiful, rich color, dense
Beautiful rich color, actually soft, true to size and cut even. My dog lays; great value for the $$. Thick and the weave is attractive. It took over 6 months to be delivered.

Great Classic Rug with Great Ballard Style
I purchased the 4 x 6 rug over 7 years ago. The dimensions are right on but do not include the finge. This rug has been in my living room, at my back door and has now been in my front foyer for over 5 years. It gets heavy use, both human and pet and still looks great. The fringe has diminished a bit but it is a very durable, thick rug. I vacuum it to clean it and it doesn't mind a bit. It also has a rubbery coating on the back that does a decent job of keeping even this smaller rug in place. I would definitely purchase this rug again, but no need! I don't think it will ever wear out!

gorgeous (adult) rug...
I have a million of these rugs--all over my house. They look like baskets on the floor. Fabulous with all my stuff, and a unifying feature throughout the house. The price is good, especially with the attached padding, which also helps to stabilize the jute. Yes, they do shed, and probably not good to have small children crawling on them. But you can't see the dirt on them, contrary to other carpeting. Plus my cat loves them--he scratches and picks at them, and you can't see where...

This is a great rug for high traffic rooms!
I purchased 2 of these rugs for my living and family rooms. I could not be happier. They are chunky and variegated in color and soft underfoot and seem to hide dirt and imperfections beautifully! In addition to a 10 year old boy who forgets to take his shoes off, I have a destruction-prone dog. I think these rugs might actually be able to stand up to our dogs dirty paws, constant shedding and even some chewing. I bought the natural color rugs, and they are a little darker than the photo. Mine are the color of a dark Golden Retriever, which is perfect for a high trafffic area. So pleased!

This rug is softer and heavier then I expected. It is great! The braid is tight and the color rich. Great sticky bottom, no need for rug pad!

great rug!
I've never bought such a big (8X10# item before online without seeing/touching it first, so I was nervous about this purchase. I'm soooo glad I did! The Natural jute rug looks great on the hardwood floor in my family room. The non-slip backing works great, the shedding is very minimal #I vacuum weekly), & there was little smell when we unwrapped it 1 month ago. I love that its not paper-thin and soft enough for bare feet. Our family of 5 is on it every day, as well as a dog, & its holding up great so far. I've advised my Mom to get one for her new house!

LOVE
I love this rug! The color really brightens up the room and it is thick and sturdy. There is some shedding but nothing that bad.

Casual Rug
I like the feel of this rug and the color. One thing the catalog photo doesn't show, though, are the loose ends that poke up every once in awhile, and the inconsistency of the color so that in places it looks almost like a light stripe.

Worse than dog hair!!
I love the look, I love the texture, the padding is fantastic. The jute is a little rough, particularly on my 8 month old's knees (now red with small cuts ... only one day of crawling and now I don't allow him on it). My 3 year old doesn't seem to mind the texture at all.
But what REALLY gets me is the SHEDDING. The fibers are EVERYWHERE. I have wide plank dark hardwood and this carpet has small fibers, long fibers, and dust-like fibers that have made their way throughout my home and even upstairs. I vacuum without the beater bar, as was recommended, but take it from me... This rug WILL release all kinds of small particles. I ended up swiffering my hardwood daily and mopping once a week. To no avail. Finally at my wits end with this shedding, I am calling it quits and returning.
Other notes: there is a slight odor from the rug upon delivery and when it is humid in the house. Also, the fringe on the rug is extremely shaggy and not nearly as neat as in the pictures.
Alas, the adage is true... You get what you pay for! Resist the temptation.

Fabulous rug
I love this jute rug. I have the 4x6 and the 9x12. It feels gloriously soft underfoot and I get many compliments on it. It hides dirt and spills very well. My only complaint is that it sheds more than a German Shepherd! It is worth it, though.

Very classy!
I love these jute rugs. I bought two for my entrance hallway after seeing how attractive they looked online. They are very classy and well made - way above the quality of other jute rugs I looked at and a more reasonable price to boot! The color is beautiful - a rich golden wheat color - the weaving is tight so it looks like they will last for a good, long time, and the fringe on the ends is just right. It's also great that they have a non-skid backing, so I didn't have to buy a rug pad. The delivery was fast and the rugs arrived in perfect condition. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Everything we were hoping for!
We ordered the 9x12 for our front room and its gorgeous!
It adds warmth to the room, it was delivered on time as promised. There was no scent or odor and its bulk allowed for a perfect roll out, no turned up corners. Another plus, it's got a grip on its bottom side so with it's approx. 1/2" thickness you don't need to purchase a pad. The rug doesn't crawl despite its heavy traffic location in our home. Our neighbors and guests love it and I've recommended them to Ballard to purchase their own.

Good thick runner for heavy traffic areas
I ordered the natural color first, was happy with the thickness and look of the runner with fringe but there was some variation of color, then I ordered the chocolate brown color, same quality at a little higher price. Also had some variation in color with the natural fibers coming through on ends that were tucked into the braid. The fringe is not as shown in the picture, a little wild. I'm a little disappointed. The rubber backing was also torn in places. Probably should have returned it, but too much of a hassle.

Love this rug!
Purchased this for our beach house and love the feel and look of this rug.. The fringe was a bit "unruly" at first but I just took a little time, combed it out, braided it a little and it worked fine..
I purchased the bleached color and it goes perfectly with my tans, creams, whites and blues.. nice texture and nice coastal feel! I really want to order a couple more but this does shed just a little on my dark wood floors so I am still considering...

Love the rug, hated the wait
I purchased this rug for our formal living room to warm it up and give it a more "dressy-casual" feel. It is HEAVY and feels great under foot. Not soft, but the knots are comfortable to walk on. The description is accurate, its a bit dressier than other jute rugs and would look great with a lot of decor.
Be prepared, it took over 2 months to receive the product. For us, it was worth the wait, but may not work if you are needing something in a usual 2 week turnaround.

Perfect rug!
I wanted to lighten up and update my living room and dining room. These rugs are perfect. I love the texture and they are still soft to walk on. The color is perfect for my furniture and it makes both rooms look very cool.

Very nice, but be prepared for the initial odor
This is a beautiful rug and brings a great textured look to my living room. However, just as a warning, I was not prepared for the rug to have an overwhelming pesticide-type odor when it arrived. It smelled like the house had been fumigated and took a good week to air out to a more tolerable level. Now, a few weeks later it is not noticeable. I think Ballard should include some explanation/warning to those who purchase this rug.

Love! Love! This Rug.
I was a little nervous about ordering such a big rug online...not having seen it in person. Once it was delivered and we rolled it out I was SO happy with it! I'm using it in my great room and it's such a great piece for the room - - it really unifies the living area of the room. I have dark wood floors so I ordered the natural colored rug and it pops beautifully against the dark wood. The fringe at the ends just adds to it - it gives the natural rug a more elegant look to it. I always receive compliments on this piece - - highly recommend!

Great value for the price
This rug looks exactly as pictured in the catalog. It is very nubby and lends great texture to the room, but there are slight color variations in the jute which create some unintended striping. All in all it is a very good value for the price.

Not very happy with this rug
I really thought I'd found exactly what I wanted in this rug. I was wrong. After waiting almost two months for its arrival, I am greatly disappointed. The coloring isn't consistent. I get the idea of a natural look, but this rug has very obvious 4-5 inch different colored stripes throughout. My first thought was that it had gotten wet while it was rolled up, and that it didn't dry evenly. Very odd looking. Also, it's very thick, and the loops are pulling out after only 5 days. I'd send it back if it wouldn't be such a pain to move furniture, roll it back it up, and stick it back in the plastic bag. Not a happy camper.

I like it; looks great and works for me.
Thicker than the standard jute rug, but very soft on the feet. Weaving is larger and looser and does not withstand rough vacuum cleaning.

Love Love Love this Rug!
I debated for a long time wether or not to get this rug. I have the banded seagrass in the dining room and am extremely happy with it but I was worried that this rug would look too casual for my living room. When the jute rug came on sale, from it's already low price, I knew I had to do it. This carpet is LOVELY, thick and soft, elegant yet casual. I chose the natural and it is seems very true to the photo in the catalogue in color. Even my 16 year old daughter is impressed with this "chic" addition to my livig room.
Whatever scent there was was not particularly bad or overpowering. A natural grassy scent.
Any imperfections....fluffy fringe or loose pieces are natural the the material and add to it's charm. By the way, the fringe can easily be hand raked and straightend. I love this carpet and would readily reccomend to anyone who is on the fence to go for it!

Great look and feel for the $!
Very happy with this purchase. It is a great rug for the $. Purchased it to update our dining room, and really love the way it looks and feels. Color and style are exactly what we were looking for. Also, really like that it has backing to hold in place. We put it down over very thin rug pad, and it works great. Would recommend for someone looking for informal and classy look.
