Standard Delivery
Orders are shipped by standard ground and usually arrive within 3-7 business days. Items ordered at the same time may not be delivered together.
Threshold Delivery
Threshold Deliveries are made by standard truck, unloaded by the driver and placed inside the first-floor doorway, garage or covered area of your choice.
In-Home Delivery
In-Home Deliveries are made by standard truck, placed inside your home wherever you like, inspected, and the packaging removed. Please allow an additional 2-3 weeks from Ship Date for your order to arrive. An agent will call to schedule your delivery. (Not available in all states.)
O/S (Oversized) Delivery
Items that are heavy or bulky are subject to an Oversized Delivery surcharge. This charge is listed after the item price.
Express Delivery
Express orders received by 3 p.m. EST are shipped the same day.
For items under 15 lb., the following Express Delivery rates apply:
- Two day service, add $9.95
- Next day service, add $19.95
- Alaska, Puerto Rico, USVI & Hawaii, add $9.95 (Express Delivery required)

Swatch Shipping
Ballard Designs offers up to 10 free swatches for all of our fabrics for a small fee of $5.95 for shipping and processing. It will take 3-7 business days for your swatches to arrive. The swatches are approximately a 3" X 3" square.

Great quality
The other reviews on this product were very helpful when I was deciding whether to purchase the bench or not, so I wanted to add my comments. I am extremely happy with my purchase. The bench is of great quality. The lid cannot be slammed on fingers which is great. It is well made, and the pin tuck fabric I chose is perfect. I would definitely recommend ordering swatch samples first though, which I see has been an issue for other customers. Viewing fabrics online is not the same as seeing them in person! We use this bench as a seat in a newly remodeled hallway, and we keep shoes in it. It has a very large storage area, which I can't imagine we'd ever fill.

Useful product with a great look
I needed this storage bench for our sunporch to store blankets and pillows for grandchildren and Sunday afternoon naps. The bench certainly fills my requirements.
I was first most disappointed over the delay in shipment. Apparently the bench was available but not the material I chose. The bench also has a very strange odor to it. I don't know if it is the bench or the material. Hopefully it will go away with time. Nowhere does it say that the bench is for sitting and I certainly don't think the quality is such that it would hold up for a lot of weight.
Price a little high for the quality but I believe the cost is more for the look. Upholstery workmanship excellent.

LOVE this bench!
I got this bench to place at the end of my bed and I absolutely love it. I had it covered in BD fabric and the quality is superb, as is the size. Not to mention the storage space available within the trunk is immense and it is fully lined so is a nice view when the trunk is open. Very happy I purchased!

Great features
I bought this as a dining bench to maximize space in my small NY apartment. It is great looking, comfortable, and provides much needed additional storage. I've previously worked as a furniture buyer, and can attest to the quality construction of this piece. Worth every penny!

Great storage bench
This bench is really well made, not chintzy. It's comfortable to sit on and is so functional. I have it at the end of my queen size bed and it looks great and has enough room to store a quilt, sheet sets and towels. It can hold a lot more too. I used my own fabric bc I was going for a specfic look but there were many nice ones to choose from.
The customer service was great too, the factory saw something in my fabric and sent it back for me to look at and ok. They were very detailed oriented in the production process. The only negative was the smell inside but I'm sure it will subside in time.

Should not have waited so long
I had my eye on this bench for a while and after reading other reviews decided to order. I could not be happier. I love the way it opens even when up against the wall. The soft close is very nice and the fabric is excellent. Thank you very much - I think brides should put this bench on their registry.

well made storage bench, lovely detail
I supplied my own fabric (velvet) after viewing the options and not feeling like there was enough variety, and found it to be less expensive in the end.
The bench is well-crafted and roomy, the studs give it a nice touch.

exactly what i wanted
Love, love, love the bench....only wish that i had requested a swatch of the fabric b/c that would be the only thing i would change. The bench itself is well made. Plenty of storage space and very sturdy.

Amelia Bench - custom fabric
We had shopped for a bench for the end of our king bed for some time without success and decided to buy fabric that matched our decor. Having provided my own patterned fabric, I was delighted with the end product, which arrived as scheduled. Ballard's customer service was excellent--from the initial inquiry to scheduling the delivery. I would highly recommend this company.

Really lovely
I ordered several fabrics swatches before buying this bench and I am happy that I did so. It is very easy to chose once you see the real colours. The bench is great, perfect size and great quality. I have a modern bedroom and mixing in a more traditional piece makes it more personal. Love it! It will last for years.

Cute and functional Piece
I got this for our playroom (our dining room acting as a playroom), and it is perfect. Provides a little space to sit for grown ups (or kids) and isn't too overwhelming against the wall - I didn't want a big sofa since the kids play on the floor a lot. It is fairly skinny for an ottoman, but really maximizes storage space - I am amazed at how much stuff fits in here! Very practical piece. It would also do well at the end of a bed since it wouldn't stick out too far. I would definitely recommend it.

Great Accent Piece
Very pleased with the Amelia bench. Ballard did a really nice job of upholstering with my fabric, and the whole process went very smoothly in a most timely manner. Now I have an attractive bench with plenty of storage space!

Love it!
This storage bench was just what I needed to complete the room. I bought the upholstered daybed with trundle a couple of months ago & decided I needed some kind of footstool or bench to go in the room as well. I was thrilled to find this storage bench...especially since I could have it covered in the same fabric as the daybed...and it gives me a place to store blankets & pillows when the bed & trundle are not in use. I love it!

This bench has great storage.
I love my Amelia storage bench. It fits perfectly at the end of my queen size bed and allows me to store a ton of stuff inside. I did upgrade the fabric to micro fiber suede and it came out beautiful in color and style. The only small down side is the the top of the bench were one sits, the fabric has become a little stretched out/loose in a very short time period (less than a month).

Solid construction and great function
This bench is just what we needed. It is roomy inside and can fit 2 quilts and a king size pillow. It looks great and our bed is less cluttered looking.
I had ordered a bench from another company but when they delayed the order for the second time, I cancelled that order. I'm glad I took the chance to order from your company.
I will order from Ballard Design again.

Amelia Bench
I ordered the Storage Bench for the end of my King Size Bed. The fabric is very rich looking and the nail heads added a great touch. The bench is well constructed and the storage area is the perfect size. Other competitors did not offer a vast selection of fabric like Ballard Designs and the prices were much higher.

Great storage
I bought the Amelia storage bench for the bottom of our king bed. It's well made and I love the Ashford paisley fabric. The lid can prop open and closes slowly for safety. It is everything I had hoped for. I have had other upholstered items from Ballard and was never disappointed.

Very high quality
The upholstery is beautiful craftsmanship and the bench itself is very high quality. When I open the bench it doesn't hit the wall. The hardware allows the lif to glide forward a bit and then open fully. Genius!

Well made and looks great, solves a problem!
I needed storage space and this seemed to be a good idea. The fast service (since I had it special ordered) was amazing and it looks beautiful at the end of my bed.
This would look great in many areas!
