Ballard's Best Buy. When designing villas and gardens for the illustrious Medici family of 15th century Italy, architect Van Utens would paint elaborate half-rounds of his plans for the Medicis to approve before building. Once the villa and gardens were complete, these picturesque half-rounds were hung above the doorways leading to newly finished gardens. The originals were found folded and tucked into books long forgotten.
Our decoupaged prints reproduce those masterpieces in wonderful detail, right down to the crease marks left from centuries of being folded and pressed inside a book. Each print identifies the villa by name.
