Lisette Dinnerware
Denim for dinner?
According to fabric lore (and believe it or not, there's a lot of it to go around), denim got its name from a wool and silk blend called Serge de Nîmes, first manufactured in Nîmes, France in the late 16th century. What does that have to do with dinner? Everything, if you love our Lisette Dinnerware. The quilted, two-tone pattern was inspired by a piece of antique, French denim.
The pattern was so intricate, no one really believed that we could translate a piece of faded French denim into dinnerware. Of course, that was enough to make us try. And our pretty Lisette Dinnerware is proof of success. Starting from a tiny swatch, artists hand painted the delicate design onto stoneware, capturing the soft blue color and lacy details we loved in the original fabric.
